Mercury and her Computer
Some chilling implications here, especially those last two names. I
do like her growing proficiency with the thing. So when does she
finally wise up and ask if it's got a tutorial?
Or if it's actually got Mercury's memories? She *did* want to talk to
Ami; could the former Mercury, as a hedge against death, have created an
AI of herself?
Interesting idea. And, as we'll see next chapter, Ami definitely had enough
time and warning to do it in. Hmm, let me think about that one...
The "outing" of Sailor Jupiter
Hmmm... Not sure I found her father's reaction all that plausible.
I do.
"You lied. You did it to protect yourself and us, but that just means
you judged yourself to be a better protector of this family than I am...
you thought yourself to be *better* than I am. You're potentially
dangerous. Worst of all, you have memories - lots of memories - that I
wasn't involved in. You are something I did not forge with my own
hands. You scare me. Go away!"
A perfectly understandable reaction. Utterly degenerate, illogical,
insensitive, and many other things, but I can see it happening.
Thanks. I don't know about the degenerate part, though ... I think that
as much as anything, he was afraid. Not the best of moods in which to go
making important decisions ...
In the meantime, I've got a room in the dungeon for him, right next
to the one I use for Genma....
Like I said: utterly degenerate, illogical, insensitive...
Hey, maybe he's Genma reborn! ^_^;
Hmm. <pours water> Nope, guess not. Oops, sorry 'bout the suit... :)
The Council
*shudder* Number 12 is... inspiredly evil. I think the other
Council members are coming across a bit too meek, though. In my
experience, any corrupt politician worth his weight in graft has a few
back-up plans ready, just in case. Do you mean to tell me that none of
them has thought of finding other sources of supernatural power?
I'd give fair odds none of them *believed* in supernatural power before
Sailor Venus showed up, and did not want to consider the source of their
Master's power.
Whether the Master would _allow_ them to try and use supernatural power
is another point. He sees all, he knows all ... he has the power to
cloud men's minds ... oops, wrong series. :)
The newest Senshi
Oh, man, Bendis really screwed this one up, didn't she? I've been
thinking about it, and I've come to the conclusion that Iku is probably
Sailor Moon. Or maybe Sailor Rupert. (Hitchhiker's Guide reference).
No...the villain's daignosis seems true: she's just unconfident. Of the
major characters thus far, if I had to, I'd bet on the girl who
indicated Iku to Bendis being Sailor Moon.
Nanako would make an interesting Senshi, wouldn't she? Or how about
Mitsukai, from the 'S' Division squad? Hmm, put her together with Iku
and it'd be hard to tell the difference...
Thanks for the comments!
Cheers,
Angus
