I don't think I have ever heard the problems of self-insertion summed up
so well, and to boot in an essay SUPPORTING self-insertion!  Very good
advice for anyone thinking of writing a fic, be it a self-insertion or
not, to follow.  After all, how many times have we read a fic and seen a
charecter act Out-Of-Charecter and said to ourselves "Let me guess... that
is exactly what the author would have done, right?"  Lord knows I am
guilty of it.
