RANMA 1/2 AND FATAL FURY
part 1
by
lynch
(Germany) There is a large castle overlooking a lake. Inside the castle
there is a tall, large and VERY muscular man( this is not someone you want
to tangle with, believe me!) wearing medieval type armor, namely a
breastplate, arm and shin guards and a long red cape. He has long purple
hair and a lean face. He is walking towards a room with slow, arrogant
strides. He enters the room and heads toward a large musical organ. As he
steps in front of it, two men-servants rush toward him and take off his
cape, bowing as they walk away. He then sits down and begins to play on the
organ. Haunting music surrounds the castle as he plays. He stops.
"Terry Bogard." He whispers.
And laughs.
(Japan)A familiar looking figure wearing a red jacket, cap and jeans is
seen disembarking from a plane in a Japanese airport.(It should be obvious
who he is!J) "Japan should be a good place to relax and forget about things
for a while." Thought Terry as he headed for the exit. He had chosen to
leave the U.S. after he and Andy and Joe had defeated Geese Howard. Terry
had picked Japan because it was one of the few places in the world that he
felt comfortable in. True, he was a gaijin but he could speak Japanese as
if he were born here. Thanks to having a father who was a student of a
Japanese school of martial arts, Terry had grown up using both English and
Japanese with his father, or at least he had until his father had been
killed by Geese. "No use thinking about that bastard Geese now," muttered
Terry "After all I DID beat him pretty badly." Terry pushed his way out
through the airport crowd, not bothering to wait for the luggage to
arrive.( Remember, all Terry needs is that one brown duffel bag to store
all his worldly belongings!) While he was pushing his way out, he looked
at a note with an address on it. " I hope Joe was able to call Mr. Tendo
and tell him about my staying with them for a while." thought Terry as he
finally got out of the airport and called for a taxi.
As Terry Bogard left in the taxi a Korean airlines plane arrived. Among the
passengers of the plane was a young Korean man clothed in a gi-like
taekwondo suit which showed off his muscular bare arms. He had nice brown
hair to complement his oriental eyes and boyishly handsome face, and
seemed to be thinking about something, which caused him to ignore the
lustful looks of most of the women on the plane. "I missed Terry Bogard in
America, but I will find him in Japan!" the man thought to himself. "I will
find him in this place they call ... Nerima!!"
Terry stopped the taxi as soon as he was in the Nerima area. "No sense in
wasting anymore money." He thought as he got off and paid the fellow.
Sighing he wondered how they could possibly charge THAT much for a thirty
minute drive. Terry looked at the note again. " The directions Joe gave me
had better be right!" as he walked in search of the Tendo dojo.
Ranma was having a bad day. Akane was mad at him again. Kuno, Mousse and
Ryouga had attacked him today too. Now normally this wouldn't be such a big
deal, but today they had all attacked him AT THE SAME @#*%$# TIME!!! And
right after he had been malleted to the ground when he had commented on
Akane's cooking. Worse, after he had managed to beat the trio off without
receiving any bodily harm(serious bodily harm anyway!J) Hinako sensei had
tried to suck him dry with that coin thing again, and the principal had
tried to cut his hair too! It was a wonder he had managed to finish the
rest of the day in school without going crazy. He was now walking with
Akane towards the dojo. Nabiki had went on ahead of them. Silence reigned
as the pair walked together, Ranma on the chain link fence while Akane
walked on the pavement, both ignoring each other. Ranma was still pretty
pissed off but he took a quick glance at Akane and locked eyes with her for
a sec. For Akane, it seemed, had also tried to sneak a quick glance. They
both looked away. Ranma decided to break the silence. "C'mon Akane, You
STILL mad about me not eating your toxic cooking?" He said.
"My food is NOT toxic!" said Akane, "and the least you could have done was
to try it!"
"Are you kidding? That stuff would have killed me!" retorted Ranma.
The two walked on while they argued. Due to the speed with which the two
walked( and argued!) They soon caught sight of Nabiki.
The sounds of bickering could be heard even over the construction noise.
"geez," thought Nabiki , "you'd think the two would have learned to get
along by now." She walked a bit faster, hoping to stay ahead of the two,
she didn't want to get involved this time. Even if it would have meant a
profit for her. She looked up towards the construction site of the ten
storey building. " I wonder how they were able to get the government to
allow them to construct a building this high in the middle of Nerima?" She
thought to herself. "Ah well." While she was looking up she noticed several
steel girders get dislodged from the crane that was carrying them towards
the highest point of the building. There was a look of surprise on her face
as the girders plummeted towards the spot she was standing in. Right
towards her.
Terry was LOST. "Joe and his #@$%& directions! I'm gonna kill him!!!!!" He
muttered as he crumpled up the note with anger. With a sigh he looked
around him to try and get his bearings and saw a building being constructed
and a short brown- haired Japanese girl wearing a school uniform passing
near the site "Hmmm she looks cute.. NO! don't think that way, not after
what happened to Lily." He chastised himself. Then he heard a loud noise
and he looked up, and what he saw shocked him! The girders were falling
towards the girl with short hair that he had been admiring. "NOOO!" He
shouted as he sprang into action.
Ranma and Akane were still arguing when they both heard a loud *SNAP!*
They both looked towards where the sound came from and saw several steel
girders fall towards Nabiki.
"NABIKI!!!!" shouted Ranma.
"Oneechaaaannn!!!!" Screamed Akane.
Time seemed to stand still for Nabiki as the girders headed straight for
her. She couldn't move and she kept thinking: "I
dontwannadieIdontwannadieIdontwannadie!!!." Then she saw a blur that was
jumping high into the air towards the girders. The blur was a person
wearing a red jacket and cap and he was hitting the girders with his hands
and feet, forcing them towards a large pile of sand near the construction
site and several meters away from the frightened( although Nabiki would
never admit that!)girl.
The girders crashed on the pile of sand. Most of them were positioned
vertically and were imbedded deeply into the sand. Showing just how much
damage could have been caused had they hit Nabiki. Terry landed on the
ground and stood up. Looking at the girl who seemed to be in shock. Whether
from the fact that she was almost killed or from what she had just seen
him do, he wasn't sure. "Are you all right?" He asked.
"Ah, H...Hai." Nabiki replied.
"You sure? Maybe we should get you to a doctor."
Shaking her head, both to clear her mind and to answer his question, Nabiki
looked at the person who had saved her life. She saw a tall, yellow haired
man clothed in jeans, a red jacket without any sleeves and a red cap. He
looked to be in his early twenties. His long blonde hair was tied up in a
pony tail and he had a white shirt on under his jacket. Nabiki then took a
long look at his face. "He's quite handsome!" she thought. "Hmmmmm......."
Terry was starting to feel uncomfortable. The girl was looking at him with
a gaze that seemed to be a mixture of awe and concentration. Kind of like
the look one has when choosing a prize steer. He was saved from her
appraising stare by two teenagers, the guy was wearing a Chinese outfit and
the girl was wearing the same type of uniform that the girl he saved had
on. Also, a horde of construction workers had ran up to them too.
"Oneechan!!"
"Did you see what he did?!?!"
"He knocked those steel girder like they were nothing!"
"Hey buddy! How the hell did you get so strong?"
"You think he's human?"
Terry was soon drowning in a sea of questions from the workers who had
seen what he did.
"Um, er..."
Nabiki was snapped out of her reverie as Akane and Ranma and the horde
arrived.
"Oneechan! Are you okay?"
"Yeah! You alright Nabiki? You almost got killed there."
"I'm alright." Nabiki answered them both. "and I hate to sound so clich
but you have him to thank for my well-being." Pointing towards the gaijin,
who was still being swamped by the construction workers and looking
desperately at Nabiki with a pleading look on his face.
"Hey, he looks familiar..." remarked Ranma.
"And busy." commented Akane wryly.
"I guess its my turn to save him." said Nabiki in a rather serious tone as
she strode towards the crowd. Akane and Ranma looked at each other and
shrugged.
Terry was on the point of panic, and that's saying a lot considering that
this IS Terry Bogard, who is known for being very cool and level-headed. He
winced in pain as he suddenly noticed that he seemed to have twisted his
left ankle while knocking away the steel girders "Damn! That hurts." He
thought as he tried to get away from the crowd. A loud feminine voice was
heard over the questions and shouts of the numerous construction workers.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Everyone quieted down. Terry saw the girl with her hands
on her hips casting a glaring look at the workers with the two teenagers
behind her.
"First you allow those girders to fall towards me! Then you bother and
annoy the man who saved my life!" she yelled at them. "Now if any of you
DON'T mind I'd like to talk to him for a sec."
Pushing her way through the crowd, she grabbed his hand and stormed away
from them with Terry following sheepishly along.
"Um.. hi I haven't uh intro.. introduced myself! I'm ..."
"TERRY BOGARD!"
"Uh-oh."
A well built Korean wearing a Taekwondo suit stood several feet away from
the group.
"I come to challenge Terry Bogard.!" He shouted.
"Of course! That's who he is!" exclaimed Ranma.
"You mean that's Terry Bogard?" asked Akane. "The guy who won all those
streetfighting competitions in America?"
"Yup!" answered Ranma " But I didn't know he was that strong!" indicating
the girders.
Nabiki looked up at the person she was holding on to. "So that's his name."
As she reluctantly let go of his hand.
Terry looked at the man who had challenged him then he looked towards
Nabiki as she let go. "Um thanks and uh... excuse me." Terry then strode
towards the challenger, ignoring the pain in his ankle. He could hear the
murmurs of wonder and confusion among the construction workers.
"I have finally found him, this should be proof of how good a fighter I
am, to defeat the one who beat Geese Howard!" Thought the Korean, he was
the same man in the airplane earlier.
"Terry Bogard, you who have defeated Geese Howard, I challenge you! Do you
accept?" He shouted.
Terry looked at the man. If he fought him, Terry would be at a
disadvantage because of his ankle, he was still ignoring the pain but he
knew it could be a problem. "Who are you?" he asked.
"I am the Taekwondo champion in Korea, and I have been looking for you in
America for a long time! I wish to prove myself! I am Kim Kaphwan. Now will
you accept my challenge?"
Terry thought about it. "Looking for me for a long time huh? Far be it from
me to disappoint him."
"I accept!" He shouted.
Kim smiled. "Thank you for accepting my challenge." He said. He then bowed
and went into a fighting stance. His arms at his sides, clenched fists
facing his opponent, feet apart and left leg slightly extended.
Terry also smiled, "Good fighting stance." He said and then went into his
own Hakkyokuseiken stance. The crowd was now watching the two intently.
"Who do you think will win Ranma?" asked Akane. "Probably Terry, but this
Kim guy ain't no slouch either, I've seen him fight on television and he's
very good." replied Ranma. Some of the workers were now taking bets. Nabiki
, at any other time would have been a part of the betting process but she
was too engrossed with the coming fight. "I hope Terry doesn't get hurt."
She thought. Both Ranma and Akane noticed the betting and Nabiki's lack of
participation in it. Big sweat drops are on the back of their heads.
With a battle cry, Kim charged at Terry and attacked with a punch towards
his face followed quickly by a kick. Terry blocked both and retaliated with
his own punch toward Kim's face. Kim dodged the blow and threw a punch
towards Terry's stomach. Terry grabbed the fist with his two hands and
threw Kim away with a judo throw. Finding himself flung into the air, Kim
does a flip and lands on his feet, quickly facing Terry again, who stood
several feet away. Both combatants eyed the other for a while before they
both charged at each other and exchanged kicks and punches which were
blocked or dodged by the other.
As the fight continued, Akane sneaked a glance at Ranma and her older
sister. Ranma was engrossed in the battle but Nabiki seemed to wince
whenever a punch or kick came close to hitting her savior. "Gee, I wonder
what.. Huh?!" she exclaimed as a roar came from the crowd. It seemed Terry
had jumped high into the air and executed one of his special moves. "Burn
Knuckle!!!" He shouted as he punched at Kim from the air. Kim saw the
energy surrounding Terry's fist and instinctively blocked, but the power of
the blow was too much and it penetrated his defense, hitting him hard on
the left cheek, forcing him down.
Terry landed on the ground then grunted in pain as his left ankle protested
under the strain of landing. He froze for a few seconds, trying to ignore
the pain. This was all the time that Kim needed. Quickly recovering, Kim
jumped high into the air and performed his own special move, "Thousand
flying kicks!" he shouted as his feet became a blur. Seeing the attack,
Terry quickly blocked and was successful in stopping most of the kicks.
But one got through! The kick hit him square in the face sending him
sprawling away. Blood and Terry's cap flew into the air. The crowd was
roaring again. "AAHHH!" Nabiki shouted. Concern and shock apparent on her
face.
The Lone wolf did a backflip and landed on his feet, careful to avoid
landing hard on his left foot. Smiling, he wiped the blood off his mouth
and said "Its time to finish this." He then stood up and went into a
different stance from the one he had used earlier.
Kim was in his fighting stance, waiting for Bogard to make a move. He then
noticed the new stance that Terry had adapted. "Eh? what could this be?" He
thought. The crowd too, was wondering about Bogard. He was just standing
there. Seemingly doing nothing. Little did they know what was about to
happen.
Terry was concentrating on channeling the chi from the earth. Soon blue
energy was swirling around him. After channeling enough Chi, Terry shouted,
"Hakkyokuseiken Senpuken!!" while he twisted and the chi became a
hurricane! The hurricane with Terry inside sped towards Kim, who stood
there with a look of horror on his face. The hurricane was huge! And it
seemed to crackle with energy. Martial arts instinct quickly asserted
itself and Kim tried to block and stop the hurricane. It was to no avail.
Kim soon found himself on the receiving end of a thousand blows on every
part of his body, knocking him unconscious. Then his body was swept up into
the hurricane and then thrown some distance away right into the river. The
hurricane stopped moving and soon dissipated. Leaving Terry Bogard who was
on his knee, clutching his left ankle. Then, to the crowd's astonishment he
ran towards the river and jumped in. Evidently, to save his defeated
opponent.
Ranma was speechless, he had never before seen someone use chi like that!
And so quickly too!
Akane was also silent, she was busy observing her sister. Nabiki was happy
and relieved. Terry had won! Her handsome savior had won! Realizing the way
that she was thinking she blushed a deep red. Clearing her thoughts she ran
towards Terry to check if he was okay, he seemed to keep favoring his left
ankle. Was he hurt? Ranma and Akane followed her. The trio ran towards The
winner who had saved Kim from drowning in the river since he was still
unconscious. Behind them the crowd was in an uproar as the winners were
collecting on their bets.
"Are you alright?" Nabiki asked, concern and worry etched on her face.
Akane and Ranma stood behind her. A wet Terry turned around and saw the
girl that he had saved earlier. "Uh...Yeah." He said. "By the way, I didn't
introduce myself properly. I'm Terry Bogard."
"I think that's rather obvious by now." Commented Ranma. Akane elbowed him
in the gut.
"OOF! What did you do that for you uncute tomboy!"
"Don't be so sarcastic! You.. You pervert!" Retorted Akane.
Nabiki paid the two no mind and concentrated on the gaijin in front of her.
"What about your ankle?" she inquired. "You kept clutching it during the
fight."
"My ankle? I think I twisted it when I was uh... saving you." Terry
finished softly.
Nabiki was taken aback. "You mean you got hurt because of me? Oh I'm sorry!
Here, let me help you." She said as she started fawning over him, giving
him a towel to help him dry up.
Ranma and Akane stopped fighting long enough to notice the way Nabiki was
acting. Then continued their argument with renewed fervor.
Terry was embarrassed, it was the first time anyone had.. had fawned over
him, and he was feeling very uncomfortable. Not that he didn't like it. He
didn't know why, but this girl seemed to make him nervous and tongue tied
whenever she looked or talked to him. He tried to shift her attention from
him and towards Kim. "Um.. Kim is hurt more than I am." He said, a hint of
desperation in his voice.
"Oh, okay lets look at him then. Ranma, Akane could you help me out here?"
Nabiki asked.
The two stopped fighting and looked embarrassed, then tried to help Nabiki.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, my name is Nabiki Tendo, and this is my
sister Akane and her fiancee, Ranma. Saotome" Nabiki told Terry. Terry
nodded as he got their names. "Nabiki.." He thought. And.... fiancee??!
"Fiancee!?" he blurted out.
"Our parents arranged it!"
"We didn't want this."
"Yeah! Who'd want to get married with such a kawaiikune ...."
"Ranma NO BAKA!!!"
<<<POW!!!!!!!!!!>>>.
Terry winced as he felt the vibrations and shockwave of the blow. Nabiki,
oddly enough didn't seem to be fazed at all by such behavior. It was as if
it was an everyday occurrence. Terry shrugged and did what Nabiki did ...
and ignored the happenings. By this time the crowd of construction workers
had dispersed. Some running away with glee and laughing out loud. Others
were walking away slowly with tears streaming from their eyes(kind of like
Soun Tendo's crying spree! J). Terry then realized something. "Tendo? Are
you by any chance related to Soun Tendo of the Tendo Dojo?"
"Why yes, he's my father." Answered Nabiki.
Terry blinked, then laughed. Nabiki and the two arguing lovebirds(don't
tell them I said that or I am doomed!!!) were surprised and they all looked
at him with a questioning gaze.
Terry stopped laughing after a while and noticing the way they were looking
at him explained: "I was supposed to go to the dojo to live there for a
while."
"You mean...." said Ranma
"Another houseguest?" said Akane.
"That' s wonderful!" exclaimed Nabiki. "That means you will be living with
us!"
"Wait a minute.. You weren't expecting me?" asked Terry.
"Nope."
"Why that ... I am most definitely going to kill Joe!"
"Is there something wrong?" Asked Akane.
"Yeah! Who are you gonna kill?" inquired Ranma.
"Joe Higashi! He WAS supposed to call the Dojo and tell you all that I was
going to stay with you for a while."
"Really now...." said Nabiki
"Joe, as in Joe Higashi!?! The Muay Thai champion fighter?" Interrupted
Ranma. " What's he got to do with the Tendo dojo?"
"Oh he used to be a student before he went to Thailand and trained in
kickboxing." Answered Akane. "Anyway that's what daddy used to tell us."
She shrugged.
Kim was starting to stir. "Uh... what hit me?(said in Korean.)" He moaned.
"Relax buddy, you're gonna be okay." Terry told him.
"Terry Bogard... how did you.... oh I remember, I lost. That was an amazing
technique!"( In Japanese this time) Quickly getting up Kim, bowed to his
former opponent. "I bow to you Terry Bogard, You are a great warrior and I
thank you for the chance to challenge and fight you."
The Lone wolf also stood up, bowed and said "And I thank you for the
challenge , it was a good fight." They both straightened. "Well, I guess I
did what I came here for, I will now return to Korea and train, but one of
these days I shall return to challenge you again." Kim said, with as much
conviction as he could.
Terry smiled and said: "I will be waiting."
Kim smiled too and nodded. "I will take my leave then, until we meet
again, Terry Bogard."
Kim then turned around and walked away. Limping.
Terry shook his head then turned towards Nabiki. "So... Do you think
there's still any space at the dojo?" Terry asked. "I'm willing to sleep on
the floor." He added hopefully.
"Sure!!" answered Nabiki at once. " I'm sure daddy won't mind, but....."
"uh-oh, here it comes, she's gonna milk him for every penny he's got."
Thought Ranma as he grimaced.
Akane too, was thinking along the same line. "Oh sister..." she sighed.
"I think we should bring you to Dr. Tofu's first, that ankle looks like it
will need help." Nabiki finished.
"HUH?!" exclaimed both Akane and Ranma as they facefaulted.
Terry and Nabiki looked at the two.
"Something wrong?"
"Um.. nothing! Its just that.. that..." stuttered Ranma
"We should bring Bogard-san to the clinic quickly because Dr. Tofu's going
to close soon." Said Akane quickly.
"Um...Yeah that's right! What she said." Ranma added after breathing a sigh
of relief.
Terry was looking at the two oddly, while Nabiki concurred with their
suggestion and practically pulled Terry towards the clinic after he got his
duffel bag. Akane and Ranma looked at each other. "Akane, have you noticed
that Nabiki seems to be acting weird around Terry?" inquired Ranma.
"Yes! Its as if she was in..." Akane trailed off.
"Hey you two! C'mon or we're not going to make it on time." Nabiki called
out to them.
The two shrugged and quickly caught up to Nabiki and Terry.
After the quartet were walking for a while. Ranma piped up. "So, where did
you learn those techniques, especially that last one. The Hurricane thing?"
He asked.
"Oh, I got most of my techniques from different masters, but I got most of
my training from the Hakkyokuseiken school, that's where I learned that
last technique from."
"The Hakkyokuseiken school? I think I've heard my father mention this
school.."
"Well anyway, I think I'm the only one who knows that technique now."
" Gee, its a lot like the Hiryushotenha technique that I know."
"Hiryushotenha?"
As the two males' conversation about martial arts continued, Nabiki found
herself listening intently, trying to catch any info about the Lone Wolf.
Which left Akane to lead the way towards the clinic. Behind the quartet, we
see the sun is starting to set and that there are storm clouds starting to
gather. Terry stops walking and turns around.
"Feel the storm? It's coming." Commented Terry as lightning flashed.
"Storm?! Arg! Lets hurry, before the rain gets here!" exclaimed Ranma as he
practically ran, dragging the two other girls with him. Leaving behind a
perplexed Terry who quickly tries to catch up. "Hey wait up!"
