Whats this for? I was thinking of a X-over bet Robotech and Patlabor.
No SDF-1 nor SDF-3 wont defold at the Patlabor dimension. Just a
veteran of the Global Civil War and his Veritech...

Heh. "I remember the good old days when all we had to worry about was
some idiot in a construction labor getting drunk and tromping through
the city.... not all these aliens hell-bent on incinerating the
planet."

This fic is sort of a testing bed for a theory of my. Protoculture in
a non-protoculture world? What will happen? VT's are light years away
from Labor's. And a lot of what if's...

Actually, they're not. The only things that a VT has over a labor are
metallury and power - metallurgy because the materials used in VTs have
to be much stronger than those in a labor or comparable size (this is
debatable, I admit), and power because the protoculture power plant is
so much smaller in comparison to any equivalent system.

Other than that, the systems wouldn't be all that much different.
Unless, God forbid, you're planning on including McKinney's dreaded
"thinking caps"

Also appreciate an URL for more details of Patlabor (Government type;
know terrorist groups the MP's have encountered; etc)

Can't help with the Patlabor sites, but have you checked out the
Robotech Reference Guide (formerly known as the Robotech Technical
Files)?
