Genesis 0:0 The Omega/ In the Beginning

	"Please, Shinji, kill me."

	Terminal Dogma was silent. The only sound was the request of the 17th Angel to someone he once told that he loved him. 

	In the entry plug of Unit-01, Shinji shook his head, trying to get the image out of his mind. His friend, the only one who had ever loved him, was an enemy. He had made Unit-02 come alive and fight him. Had brought him to this place, this lake with the crucified figure at the end of it. And now, this person, this angel was asking Shinji to kill him.

	"No!" Shinji screamed. It couldn't be happening, not again. In his mind's eye Shinji saw the entry plug to Unit-03, saw the hand of the monster that he piloted crush it. Saw the smirk of his father, a father that tried to kill his friend, a father that told him to kill his friend. "No!" he repeated again. It was like his little chant, and he couldn't run away form the form he held in the palm of his hand.

	In Central Dogma, the bridge crew looked on, wondering what would happen, fearing what would happen. Only the presence of their commander kept many of them from panicking. For all his faults, Ikari Gendou could handle and command a crowd. 

	"You do know what he will do?" the Sub-Commander asked.

	Gendou smiled, "He'll do what he was to."

	"Sir!" Maya's voice was raised in alarm. She pointed a shaky finger to the main screen, where the picture had disappeared.

	"All our interments are dead," Makoto reported, franticly scanning his control board.

	"Cause?" the Commander, asked.

	"Unknown, sir," Maya replied, desperately trying to bring anything online. "Everything just quit. I can't even read the neither Magi nor Unit-01"

	In Terminal Dogma, Shinji banged on the controls in frustration; Unit-01 had powered down. He couldn't see what was happening, what had happened to Kaworu, anything.

	The 17th angel relaxed in the grip of the monster that held him. "I was wondering if you would interfere further," he said conversationally. 

	"I do not wish to bring him pain," the other one said, "If you are killed, he will hurt. If you join with Lilith, that will also bring him pain."

	Kaworu nodded, "I thought you might feel that way." He though for a moment, "There is a third choice. Everything comes in threes' and it is the burden of man to chose."

	The other considered Kaworu proposal, "Agreed." 

	Unit-01 slowly powered up, and Shinji was once again able to see the face of his enemy, his friend, and� Rei. 

	"Shinji," Kaworu said softly, "You can kill me and live, not kill me and die. That is your choice."

	Shinji shook his head, "No! How can I kill you?" he demanded. "You said you loved me, and now you say I have to kill you or be killed, was that a lie?"

	"WE do not lie, Shinji, and I would never lie to you. There is a third choice; however, I can make all of this go away. Restart time, but things would not be the same, and you would not be the same."

	"Would I have to kill you again?" the Child asked.

	"I do not know, but there will be a chance," the Angel replied. 

	Unit-01 set the Angel down on the rubble it had caused in its fight with Unit-02. "Do it," Shinji said. 

	Kaworu nodded and smiled at him, "I really do love you, Ikari Shinji," he said and started to glow a holy white light.

	Rei nodded as well, "I do as well," she said, and started to glow too. 

	The chamber filled with the light, and it expanded out caressing the form of Unit-02, Lilith, and the sobbing form of Shinji. It moved throughout NERV headquarters. Through the comatose form of Asuka, in through Central Dogma and the bridge. Rolled around Misato, Maya, Makoto, and Gendou. Gathered at the top of the NERV pyramid, then shot a hole through the armor of the GeoFront and into Heaven.

	Ikari Gendou adjusted his glasses once more, "Begin the activation test," he ordered. In the background, he heard the complies and the various technicians beginning to scramble around trying to bring the Evangelion to life.

	"What is this child doing here?" Gendou grinned at the question. 

	"The child is Commander Ikari's, Professor Fuyutsuki," Dr. Akagi answered in her usual efficient manner.

	"Ikari, this is not a preschool," Fuyutsuki says with some annoyance.

	Gendou grinned even more, and then a voice came over the comlink that made him actually smile. "I'm sorry, Professor, I wanted Rei to see what we are doing," Yui said. 

	Fuyutsuki grumbled some more, but gave up in the end.

	"Are you ready, Yui?" Gendou called out.

	"Yes," she replied.

	"Dr. Akagi? Professor?"

	Both gave their OK.

	Gendou took a deep breath and coughed just a bit, "I'll never get used to this stuff," he though. He smiled once more when he heard Yui's whispered instructions to their four-year-old daughter to "Wave to Daddy, Rei." 

	"Activate Unit-01," Gendou ordered. Then his world faded away.

	Ikari Yui watched in horror as the purple monster absorbed her husband. 

	"Oh my God!" she heard Dr. Akagi say. 

	Yui looked down at the cast on her arm, she had broken it just three days before the test and Gendou wouldn't allow her to attempt to synchronize with the EVA. He volunteered himself, and now� now. Yui sank to her knees, weeping. Fuyutsuki came up and put his hand on her shoulder, trying to give her comfort.

	"We'll get him back, Yui," he whispered to her, "I promise you this."

	Yui continued to weep. Then a small tugging made her look up.

	"Mommy? What happened to daddy?" Rei asked.

Author's Notes

Nihao!

	Yes, I will work on everything else. I just wanted to see what this would look like on paper. If you can't tell, Rei and Shinji's roles are switched, (That idea BTW is from Christopher 'God-Boy' Angel's Age of Evangelion. Thanks for the permission to use) I'm more or less going to follow the same story line, but many to the events that happened in EVA before the series started will have changed. And the motivations for many of the players will have changed as well. And on top of that, it will be Yui who will be the bastard. (Or is that bitch?) And I want C&C for this, or else I'll write a continuation on all of Oscar's fics. ~_^ EVA is owned by GAINAX not me, and I never said I did.
