[Scene opens: Angel is perched on a rooftop, among several gothic statues.
He walks around the rooftop aimlessly, reminiscing. It is raining quite
hard, but he doesn�t seem to notice.]

Angel:

I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be

[We see Angel and Buffy slow dancing in the Bronze, her silver cross burning
him]

And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
[From the last encounter with Acathla, Angel�s eyes flare yellow as his soul
is returned]
How at last I find in you
The missing part of me

[Buffy and Kendra drag Angel out of a burning church where Spike had
attempted to kill him.]

In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
[From when he and Buffy were possessed, he wipes away her tears as they
dance in the music room.]
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes

[Angel puts a claddagh ring on Buffy�s ringer, promising to return to her.
Both of them have tears in their eyes.]

[Scene change: Buffy is sitting on her window sill, her eyes staring out
into the storm. She is obviously thinking about Angel.]

[Buffy cries as she tells Angel she loves him, even though she shouldn�t.]

Buffy:

I�d be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true

[Angel smiles at Buffy as she rambles on about her mother�s boyfriend while
she wraps up his arm. He pulls her towards him and kisses her.]

I�m so grateful to you
I�d�ve lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

[Now our view is split: we see both Angel and Buffy in their respective
places, looking at the storm.]

Angel:
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Buffy:
Somehow we�d make the whole world right

Angel & Buffy:
[Angel and Buffy sword fight as Acathla is about to be reborn.]
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
All they leave us were these whispers in the night

[Buffy stops as she�s about to kill Angel, realizing Willow�s curse has
taken effect.]

And still my heart is saying we were right

[The memories come faster to both of them now.]

Buffy:
[Angel startles Buffy in a graveyard as she patrols.]
If I never knew you
    Angel:
    [Angel tosses Buffy a velvet box which contains a cross.]
    There�s no moment I�d regret
Buffy:
[Buffy tenderly puts a hand on Angel�s vampiric face and kisses him.]
If I never knew you
    Angel:
    [Buffy tackles Angel, who she believes to be stalking her.]
    Since the moment that we met
Buffy:
[Buffy and Angel kiss in front of her bedroom window.]
I would have no inkling of
    Angel:
    [Angel pulls away, his face transformed into that of a vampire.]
    If our time has gone too fast
Buffy:
[Buffy and Angel kiss as the vortex into hell opens.]
How precious life can be
    Angel:
    [Buffy runs Angel through with her sword.]
    I�ve lived at last

[Angel leaves the rooftop. Buffy leaves her window ledge, wiping away tears.
She starts to get ready for bed.]

Angel & Buffy:
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we�d make the whole world right
[Angel walks rapidly through the streets of Sunnydale.]

Buffy:
I thought our love would be so beautiful
We�d turn the darkness into light

[He stops in front of a house � Buffy�s. He takes a deep breath and heads
for the tree under Buffy�s window.]

Angel & Buffy:
And still my heart is saying we were right

Angel:
We were right
[Angel climbs the tree and looks in Buffy�s window.]
And if I never knew you

    Buffy:
     If I never knew you
Angel:
I�d�ve lived my whole life through

Buffy:
[Buffy settles into bed, then hears a knock on her window. She whirls
around, and sees Angel�s face.]
Empty as the sky

Angel & Buffy:
Never knowing why
[Buffy slowly walks to the window, not believing her eyes.]
Lost forever
If I never knew
You�

[As the scene fades to black, you see Buffy open her window, and take Angel�
s hand.]

�If I Never Knew You� is off the soundtrack to the Disney movie Pocahontas,
and was sung by Jon Secada and Shanice. I just thought the words and music
fit with Angel and Buffy. This takes place after the end of Season 2. Send
