Okay, I said I didn't have anything new.  I said I wouldn't be working
on anything.  Well...Life interfered.  In my case, my Creative Writing
class at college interfered, and I had to write...a poem.  Yep, a poem for
a workshop, and guess what?  This was the result.  Time will tell if my
classmates think I'm nuts or not, but here's what I came up with.

    As to my other projects...hey, I'm doing the best I can, alright?

     Dances of Life: Major Erica Carter

I.
Lying on a grassy hill, 
Its flanks vibrant with the green
Color of summer
My love surrounds me
With his arms, his affection
Soothing me.
I feel loved.

-"Biroodo no shisen de tsutsumaretai no
Kono haato ginga de chikatta koi yo."-

II.
He is gone.
A wave of darkness, a flash of light,
And he is gone.
Never again will I feel his arms
Enveloping me with the love he can give.
I feel lost...and so alone
Like a shattered mirror.

Chiisana nemuri yasuragu hito"-

III.
Tokyo, city of Destiny
Forever in the middle of the struggle
Between Light and Darkness, it was there that
I met them, the Sailor Senshi.
Five young souls, with the power and wisdom of the planets, 
And Sailor Moon, the Tsuki no Oujo.
They were the light that pulled me
Out of my dark.

In the end, their Light overcame the Darkness
For a time.
They, and I, came out changed.
Same, yet different.
We now had a future
And a destiny to find.

IV.
Now, the world trembles,
As the hands of fate weave
A delicate balance in the renewed struggle
Between Light and Darkness.
In the midst of that chaos,
I found love once more.

Nani ga nandemo ganbaranakucha
Mune ni chikau ai no senshi yo"-

V. 
Brown hair, its softness contrasting my own
Firey red.
Her brown eyes, so full of warmth and wisdom.
I looked into her heart, and found a soul
So much like my own.
I feel loved again.
We are like two candle flames, locked in an 
Eternal dance of love and light.

ooki-na yume ga aru yo ne
dakara pit-to ririshiku"-

VI.
Now is the time of peace
The Light has overcome the Darkness.
For now, we rest.
In a Crystal city, full of hope and light
My love beside me.
The eternal dance continuing
Into the future...

Author's Notes:
    Heh, not much to say here.  Basically, this was supposed to be a free
verse poem detailing the cycle that Erica Carter's life has gone through. 
The reason for the double length stanza in III: Hey, you try to summarize
200 episodes and 4 movies in seven lines, and see how far you get! 
(Technically, I put the cut off point for that stanza at about ep. 46.)

    Eventually, I plan to turn this into a full fledged story, with more
than a few twists in store for the dear Major.  Heh, heh.

    About the use of Japanese: Tsuki no Oujo means Moon Princess.

    As for the rest, they were selected lyrics from the following SM songs
(in order): Tuzedo Mirage, Moon Revenge, La Soldier, Ai no Senshi, Otome no
Policy, and Moonlight Densetsu.

    Disclaimer: Sailor Moon was created by Naoko Takeuchi/Toei Animation,
and released in North America by DiC Entertainment.  Destiny's Path and all
characters (execpt those borrowed from other series) belong to me.
    Please don't sue me, for I am a poor college student (in his final
semester!!!!  Yay!!!!)
