When I joined the list last year, I did i for one reason, and one 
reason only. I enjoy the writing. You people do great, enjoyable work, 
and unlike many others, you take pride in what you do. That, in 
particular, is why I'm particularly saddend by the turn of events on the 
ML as of late. 
    Where once there was a vast field of immagination, now their is a 
massive battle ground. One where people do not attack each other 
phyiscally, but do so through insults and verbal attacks. Once C&C was a 
great art. Now, with few exceptions, it is a corrupted, or at least 
lost, art. It is used to attack, to destroy another's ideas, instead of 
help them to express it. Instead of using C&C the way it was designed, 
it's being used to grab attention, to kill off entire groups of stories! 
    Need proof? Look to the 100+ posts pertaining to GUTB. Look to the 
75+ posts on C&C thread. Ladies and gentlemen, the FAN-FICTION mailing 
league is collapsing. Authors are leaving, slowly now, but eventually it 
will increase, until the list is dead. Does anyone what that to happen? 
Of course not. 
    Yet still we continue to not only let it happen, but to actually 
SPEED UP the process! Please, stop yammering on about GUTB! Stop 
declaring someone who puts out a particularly unkind comment about your 
story, or anyone elses to be GUTB! You're using Marxisim people! 
Declaring someone to be a ally to a public menace without any proof is 
tantamount to that which GUTB stood for! 
    Yes, stood for. Despite everything that you've read, despite all the 
garbage C&C that has been flying around, noone really knows that the 
newest person to join the list, to try (and obviously fail) at c&C is 
GUTB, in any incarnation. He has no followers, no cult devoted to him or 
anyother nonsense. He was just someone desprate for attention, and got 
it the only way he knows how, to insult others. 
    Now then to GUTB if your are out there, or anyone else who would 
insult someone just for ratings, or attention, I have one thing to say 
to you. Get out. It is people like you who may soon destroy the FFML. If 
you have something important to say, something USEFUL to say, fine. If 
you do C&C, don't just insult people, bring the good with the bad. C&C 
does not mean 'insult'! It means comment and critisim. Ever hear of 
CONSTUCTIVE CRITICISIM? It is the best type of C&C, BECAUSE it states 
the good with the bad. 
    If you insist upon insulting and degrading others work, simply 
because it doesn't suit your fancy, you don't like the author, or 
anyother reason, GET THE HELL OUT!!! 
     I understand that I am making no freinds with this long, rather 
preachy sermon. But I just had to get that off my chest. One last thing. 
Since it is obvious that bad C&C just doesn't go away, try ignoring it. 
If it is for attention, then maybe the C&Cer will shut up. Once again I 
will state that I really wouldn't like anyone telling me that I'm acting 
infantile, or that I may end up destroying paradise, but I stand by my 
words, and am fully prepared to be banned,  stoned, publicly snubbed, or 
otherwise humiliated for my perception on the current state of affairs. 
However, if, after I'm banned, someone else comes along saying things 
similar to what I just preached, don't mark them as 'Lucas Scarpati' or 
'Lupus' because I will stay off the FFML for as long as my banishment is 
enforced.    Goodnight, and please, use the list as it was ment to be 
used.
