I thought the point of the discussion, though, was to toss an idea
around
and see if it sticks. Maybe working the whole thing out without any
Nabiki-stomping would be a challenge a really good writer could sink
their
teeth into. Most of the characters involved have never offered to
rearrange Nabiki's face, even though she HAS "tap-danced" with them in
the
original storyline. ^_~ She has pretty much outfoxed all of them on
one
level or another.
Nabiki never had a confrontation with any of them because she just isn't
a confrontational person. The real Nabiki never displayed a genuine
personal interest in seeing Akane and Ranma solve their problems--at all
times, she did what would get her money and/or a free meal, but that's
it.
To say that she 'out-foxed' anyone (besides Ranma) is a basic
misunderstanding of her character. She never actually fights with anyone
except, of course, the series' cardinal exception, Ranma. She blackmails
Ranma and sells information to everyone else--that's Nabiki.
I've pointed out the complications of forcing Nabiki into a situation in
which she actually fights. This is a serious situation that would have
serious consequences that wouldn't be able to fit into the series.
Consider it this way: Why doesn't the Coyote ever catch the Roadrunner?
For him to do so would lead to circumstances that couldn't fit into
Looneytunes.
