Prisoners of Our Dreams
Author's Notes

It began simply enough.

I had nightmares.

For several nights in a row, I was plagued by disturbing and often
just plain bizarre dreams. One night, while half-awake, such a dream
threatened to claim me, and I came to with a thought:

What happens when the nightmares consume one so completely, they
begin to affect the conscious mind when awake? And what if the
nightmares continue to grip the person, tearing at their very soul?

Everyone, after all, has a nightmare which they cannot shake. It may
lie dormant for long periods of time, but it will always come back to
haunt. Even our favorite anime characters.

And then I asked myself: what if there was one cosmic, universal
entity, creating and controlling all the nightmares?

And it was thus that Prisoners of Our Dreams began.

Prisoners of Our Dreams is a multiple series crossover. Characters
from various anime and even video games will come together through
numerous dream-related occurrences.

PoOD is not a story to be read by the faint of heart. If you are
bothered by dark, sometimes surreal, and often graphic depictions of
violence, gore, and sexual conduct, you should not read this story.

PoOD is extremely dark in its tone and nature. No character which
enters this story will come out unscathed. Your favorite characters
may, and probably will, be put through extreme hell, and possibly
worse, through the course of this story. Those who are faint of angst
and dark emotions, read no further.

A point which has been brought up after the prologue was released,
and I felt like addressing here: Despite similarities between the
concept genesis of PoOD and Wes Craven's "Nightmare on Elm Street"
films, the Nightmare on Elm Street series has absolutely no influence
upon PoOD.

At the time of this writing, the following series are slated for
inclusion in Prisoners of Our Dreams:

Alundra
Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
Dragonball
El-Hazard
Fushigi Yuugi
Magic Knight Rayearth
Mamono Hunter Yohko
Ranma 1/2
Slayers
Tenchi-Muyou!

Additions to this list may be made as the story progresses.
