The antagonism is perfectly believable and natural.  Akane has even more 
reason to dislike this Ranma.  

Face it, conflict is fun and funny! (For me that is ^_^). And please don't
miss the
point that comedy is the priority with this series ....

Plus the best part is 'kissing and making up' ^_^.

Kissing and making up?  I don't see a hope of anyone kissing and making 
up.  Akane hates Ranma.  Ranma's not real fond of Akane.  Ranma hates 
Nabiki.  Nabiki's not real fond of Ranma.  And Kasumi just doesn't care. 
They just...don't...like each other, and for excellent reasons.  I think 
this is one universe where Ukyo or Shampoo should get Ranma.  

Anyway thanks for your comments. And Phillip too! (You guys said basically
