Ranma 1/2 / Ah! Megama-sama : Wish Chapter Two

      "Oneesan!!" Skuld shouted the second she reached the temple, tears
flowing from her eyes, "Oneesan, come quick!"  Looking down at the boy who had
saved her, she whispered, "Please hang on," before shouting again, "Oneesan!"

      Skuld's shout brought forth everyone except Keiichi, who was at a motor
club meeting. 

      Urd was the first to arrive.  Looking down at the boy Skuld was holding,
she instantly recognized Ranma.  Though her main job was system maintance, her
other job  or hobby was the Goddess of Love.  Upon the mortal plane, there
were only a select few that have ever caught her attention.  The boy laying
near death in Skuld's lap was one of them.  Immediately, Urd called forth a
ball of purple energy into her hand.  Placing her glowing hand over Ranma
chest, Urd started to concentrate in the hopes of healing him when her eyes
snapped open and the glow around her hand disappeared.  Looking at Skuld,
"What happened?"

      "I met...a...de...mon," she sobbed, looking down at Ranma, "He...saved
me."

      Urd's initial surprise was soon replaced by a knowing smile.  

      "Something is blocking me from healing him," Urd explain.  Seeing
Belldandy round the corner, "Belldandy, I need your help.  This mortal was
wounded by a demon and something is blocking me from healing him."

      Nodding her head in understanding, Belldandy knelt by Ranma as well and
called forth a white ball of energy as Urd called forth a purple ball.
Placing both of their hands over Ranma's chest, both the Goddess of Past and
Present concentrated in trying to save his life.  After a few moments that
seemed like a millennium, both Goddesses opened their eyes, a sad look on both
their faces.

      "I'm sorry, Skuld." Belldandy apologized, "There seems to be something
blocking us from healing him but we were able to delay his death.  He has 24
hours before his life ends here in Midgard.  Please tell us what happened."

      Sobbing a little more, Skuld started to explain what transpired a few
hours ago.  After finishing, Skuld could see the troubled look that Urd and
Belldandy had on their face.  "Why can't you heal him?"

      Looking into Skuld's eyes, Belldandy explained, "Do you remember the
Doublet System, Skuld?"

      "Yes, but why is that a problem?"  Skuld asked when suddenly her eyes
widened and her mouth formed the word, "No," yet no sound escaped her lips.

      "When Ranma killed that demon, a god or goddess was killed as well and I
think that the Yggdrasil doesn't like someone killing us even
unintentionally," Urd explained.

      "No!" Skuld shouted.  After a few more minutes, "But if that demon
killed me, then another demon would have died as well."

      "You are talking about demons now, Skuld.  They do not uphold the same
amount of respect with each others as we do," Belldandy explained. 

      Later that day, Belldandy deposited Ranma into one of the spare
bedrooms.  As she passed Skuld's room, a tear rolled down from her face.
*She's going to blame herself for everything that has happened.*

      Inside, Skuld was feverishly working on her computer.  There was a
determined look in her eyes.  She had done the calculations before in the
short amount of time Ranma had to live and she would do it again.  Swiping
away the tears, *I'm not going to let you die, Ranma.  I owe you my life and I
want to repay you for your kindness as well.*

      Urd was on the phone talking to Kami-sama.  "You can't be serious.  He
saved Skuld's life.  Where is the fairness in that?"  Slamming the phone down
in disgust, Urd stalked out of the room.

      As the next day started to end, Skuld burst out of her room in search of
Urd.  Inside you could see a gigantic pile of what use to be ice cream and
around the computer there were several scattered sheets of computer print
outs.

      Dragging her eldest sister outside, Skuld explained what she wanted to
do and after a little pleading Urd complied.  The next hour was spent with
Skuld re-creating the Ultimate Magic Circle of Warding.  Upon completing the
circle, each rune inside the ward started to give off a blue glow.

      Placing Ranma inside the ward, Urd started to chant the words that would
release the its power.  

      Blaze like flames,
      Race like the wind, 
      Shake like water,
      and recieve like the earth,
      I order you in the name of the Goddesses of Past, Present and Future,
      Arise Ultimate Magic Circle of Warding!!!!

      All around Ranma a dome of energy appeared, rising into the skies above
and suddenly flared bathing everyone in a white light.

      "Uggg," Ranma moaned as the light receeded, "What hit me?"  A moment
later, he was being glomped by a girl with black hair.
