Anno? (For this purpose, I introduced a new character, Yuka.)

RITSUKO: Misato, what's the meaning of this child being here!?
GENDOU: I've decided to take care of an aquaintance's child for a while.
Her name is Yuka Masagiru.
MISATO: Commander Ikari, we can't have a child wandering around NERV HQ.
GENDOU: Very well. EH? Where'd she go!? (Gets completely out of character
by showing a facial expression.)
YUKA: Oh boy! This is a fun place! Hey, who're you?
REI: My name is Rei Ayanami.
YUKA: Why do you have red eyes!?
REI: I don't know....Why must I exist? What am I?
YUKA: Lady, you're weird!
REI: I hate blue.
YUKA: Umm....bye-bye! (runs off)
REI: Am I....crying?
YUKA: Boy, she was weird! Huh? What's wrong, lady?
ASUKA: (Crying) I'm not worth anything anymore!
YUKA: Do you wanna play with my dolly?
ASUKA: SHUT UP! I'M NOT A DOLL! I'M NOT! I'M NOT!!! DIE!!!!
(Asuka lunges at Yuka. Yuka runs away, leaving Asuka behind tearing the
head off her dolly)
YUKA: God, that lady wasn't nice! Huh? Oh, it's you again.
REI: Hello.
YUKA: Waah! I wanna go home! I wanna go home!!!!

							
Or, what if Hideki Anno directed My Neighbor Totoro?

Totoro:DEATH and Totoro:REBIRTH

MEI: It's Totoro! It's TOTORO!
TOTORO: Rowr. (Is it? Am I Totoro? Or am I just...no, I am me.)
MEI: Very good. You've established that you are indeed you. But what is
your purpose?
TOTORO: Rowr. (I don't know...I exist for me. I exist because I have to.)
SATSUKI: What is your purpose? Why do you exist?
TOTORO: Rowr. (I exist because I have to. I have no other value.)
SATSUKI: By giving value to yourself, you give value to others.
MEI: You have to WANT to exist before others will want you to.
TOTORO: Rowr. (I see! So, I do have purpose! Yes, I do! My purpose is to
exist to bring joy to children everywhere!)
(Floor below Totoro shatters and everyone stands there applauding.)
SATSUKI: Congratulations.
MEI: Congratulations.
MOTHER & FATHER: Congratulations.
OBAASAN: Congratulations.
