So nice to generate feedback :)
Only problem is, that's not really Kuno. I've only seen about 30
volumes of the manga, but I don't recall any incidents of actual affection
between the Kuno siblings, and several indications that they barely
tolerate each other.
Well, in the Sibling Rivalries story (around Vol.20?), the day after
he had a serious fight with Kodachi (he ripped up her poster of Ranma)
the first thing he did was ask Ranma to be Kodachi's slave for a week,
just so they could make up.
Not to mention they still live in the same house together. If they
really disliked each other that much, one would think one of them
would've moved out.
I myself barely tolerate my sister. I'll never show any affection for
her if I can get away with it.
I find it unlikely he would attack his beloved
"osage no onna" just because his sister was upset.
You forgot who she was kissing. Compound that with a sullied family
honor (despite Kuno's relatively loose view of it, it's still there),
and you've got an avenger.
He'd probably blame it all on Ranma.
He did.
No, he's not a "semi-insane, lustful maniac" - he's a totally-deluded,
lustful moron. (Can you tell I don't like him?) He's worse than Happosai.
That's a few points against me. Oh well, can't please everybody (I
must've been following the Evaluating Stories thread too long).
Kodachi is, beyond any doubt, my favorite character. That is one of the
reasons that this fic caught my attention. This fic was one of the
better representations of her that I have seen. She is not insane, she
is merely slightly deluded in the same way that Shampoo is. She
believes that Ranma loves her with every fiber of his being.
Okay, I like Kodachi too, but this is simply wrong. As she says in the
Asuka story, she knows Ranma doesn't love her - she just feels that since
he's never said he loves anyone, she's still got a chance, and who can
blame her for that.
Let's clear something here. At the very beginning of the story,
Kodachi is ecstatic that Ranma actually ASKED, out of his own free will,
to see her. This, in itself, is very different, and she knows it; she
knows Ranma doesn't love her, and that Ranma could care less if she died
last week (In the Asuka story, Ranma wouldn't even consider helping
Kodachi out until Akane FORCED him to help her). Ranma has NEVER shown a
desire to see her in his life, and that's why she's really, really,
really happy. (of course, if I failed to get that across even implicitly
(I thought I did...), I must've done something wrong)
She then proceeds to... naw, read the fic.
