I realized someting. If Replicants are like organic robot then
wouldn't that make them something like Thirds? If so, What if
there
was a story where a Blade Runner comes to Mars and is assigned to
retire a specific Third named Naomi Armitage.
It could work. But keep in mind that Thirds are less organic than
Replicants, especially the Nexus 6's that put Deckard through Hell.
The only way beyond emotional disfunction that you can spot a
Replicant
is by doing an analysis of their bone marrow. Thirds have fully
functional emotions (though each has a unique mental quirk) and
bodies
that are much more mechanical.
Which is merely a way of getting over an oft ignored side effect of
building androids/replicants/thirds/boomers. Any time you introduce
metallic parts in an organic body you increase the weight of the said
cyborg. Boomers have to weigh a ton, same for thirds. Repilcants may
be a bit lighter, but certainly heavy enough to accidentally crush an
over anxious Blade Runner during the sex scenes. Same goes for Ross
and Armitage, the enhancements to his torso doesn't save his legs and
... er.. well, you know.
Not true. There are metals that are not much heavier than bone, and the
bones are about the only metal parts of Thirds and Sexaroids.
