I was channel surfing, when at got to the Cartoon Network and it was
playing Sailor Moon! I know it's the Dic version but still, it surprised
me. I guess it started at 1600 hrs EST, and since it's on Cartoon
Network that must mean their going to do a super chunk on it. That
means on one saturday or sunday they'll show it for four to six hours
strait!
Actually, since the non-Quest Toonami series (Thundercats, Voltron,
Robotech, and Sailor Moon) are all syndicated through Program Exchange- that
is, Turner Enterprises/Cartoon Network has no ownership in them- it would
probably require a special contract for CN to show a 'Super Chunk' of these
shows outside Toonami.
If you check the contents of 'Super Chunk,' you will usually find material
from the Hanna Barbera, MGM, or Warner Brothers film libraries- material CN
doesn't have to pay royalties on to show.
So, don't look for any Sailor Moon marathons anytime soon- CN would show
Birdman first.
