OPERATION: LIGHTSPHERE
An Iczer/Teknoman crossover fanfic by Andrew Dynon
PHASE TWO
CHAPTER FIVE
Any and all C&C NEEDED! MSTs especially welcome
* * * * *
She walked along the dark corridor, unable to stop her body from moving,
despite how desperately she wanted to, her footsteps ringing out as she
approached the blonde-haired android who was Earths only hope, whom she was
being forced to destroy. The resistance she put up was no use, her body
was her enemies tool now. But her mind was still free
{Iczer-1!} she sent in desperation. {Forgive me I cant stop. I cant
control myself any longer! So, please shoot me! KILL ME!} Iczer-1 gasped
as she received these thoughts. Nearby, a red-haired android grinned evilly.
"Interesting *can* you shoot her, Iczer-1?" the redhead asked, as Iczer-1
stared at the teenaged girl and then spoke softly, almost whispering.
"Nagisa Im sorry, but I just cant fire, I just cant bring myself to
shoot you"
{Iczer-1! If you die, what will happen to the Earth? Please fight,
Iczer-1, PLEASE!!}
Grasping her wounded arm, Iczer-1 fired an energy blast at her, turning her
head away so that she would not see it hit. Nagisa felt the blast burn
through her chest, and then began to fall forward, a fall which was stopped
when she was caught in the cradling arms of Iczer-1. The dying Nagisa
looked up at her killer, struggling to keep her eyes open.
"Iczer-1 Im grateful. Please win. Win for Earth"
Then, Nagisas soul rose away from her body, moving not to the afterlife,
but towards Iczer-1s. As the two souls combined, they felt an energy
awaken that poured like molten metal into every part of their being. With
Iczer-1s body, the combined spirits gasped in amazement.
"This is This is it!! SYNCHRONIZATION!!!!!!!"
Nagisa awoke, and sat up in her bed, not caring that she was unable to see
without the lights on.
"Iczer-1" she said to herself. "I I understand, now."

WHEN I DESCEND
(PART 1 OF 2)
* * * * * * * * *
"Mac, have you finished your work on that boosterpack yet?"
"Almost done, Blade. Once we get this fitted, the /Blue Earth/ll be able
to reach the dark side of the moon."
"And Ill be able to take out Darkon."
"Hey, you guys!" Star called as she entered the hangar door. "Anybody seen
Commander Jamison around?"
"Hes been holed up with Candy and Kawai in the research lab since last
night, hes asked for no interruptions." Tina chirped. "Says hes working
on some kind of new secret weapon."
"Its done. Ive finished it." came Jamisons voice from behind them. The
four turned to see the commander holding a meter-long gun of a type none of
them had seen before.
"Commander, what is it?" Tina asked.
"A counter-flux polariser. It can create an energy field that destabilizes
the tekno transformation process. With any luck it will stop an enemy
teknoman in his tracks. He paused to allow the information to sink in. "Of
course, its only been tested under lab conditions, and we wont know for
certain until we use it in the field."
[MINUTES LATER, COMMUNICATIONS ROOM]
"Looks like Maggies done her job up on the space ring, the communications
systems are working again!" Tina said as a screen flashed into life.
"Yeah, well, thats the good news." Came Maggies transmission. "The bad
news is what theyre picking up!" She immediately transferred the visuals
to what was being received, and Tina stared in horror.
"The alien spore trees! Theyre beginning to bloom!" Tina said as she saw
the images of the trees in question moving, capturing any humans nearby and
entrapping them within the pods, where they would ungergo the process by
which they would be turned into Rhadam warriors.
"Maggie, open the Global Communications Link! Give me every channel youve
got!" Jamison commanded, and the technician immediately complied.
"Attention all citizens of Earth! This is commander Jamison of the Space
Knights. It appears the final stage of the enemy invasion has begun. It is
vital that you avoid contact with the alien spore trees. Go to the nearest
space transport facility. We will evacuate as many people as possible to
the space ring orbiting the Earth. Pilots of any private vessels capable of
reaching the space ring are requested to assist in the evacuation."
Jamison ended the transmission.
"Tina, how many can we get there?"
"Best case scenario, twenty per cent, sir."
"Twenty per cent thats not good enough" Nagisa said despairingly. "There
must be some way to stop this."
"There is one." Blade replied. "We get to the moon and kill Darkon himself."
"It was bound to happen eventually" Kawai mused.
"Time to get this over with." agreed Tina.
"Yeah! Lets beat this guy!" Iczer-3 shouted.
"And youll need us, too." Nami said as she and Kiiro teleported in. "Lets
get going."
* * * * *
"So the fools make their final despairing bid of resistance." Darkon
stated contemptuously. "to burn on their funeral pyre before this planet
is claimed for my masters. Mace, Sword, you shall destroy the Kthulhus
servants. Spear, you shall destroy the one named "Nagisa"."
"Yes, Master Darkon." The three bowed and departed.
"Iczer-2 you shall destroy your younger sister."
"Feh need I remind you, you do not control me. Neither Iczer-3, nor this
planet, nor your war, concerns me. I have only one enemy although, if you
try to treat me like you own me, I will be more than happy to destroy you."
"So, do you refuse to kill her?" Darkon threatened.
"Despite how you insult me, I shall destroy this Iczer-3." Iczer-2
replied. "But not for you." She turned, placing her hand on Sabers shoulder.
"And, you, Saber, know your enemy." The Tekno Warlord said.
After Saber and Iczer-2 had left, Darkon stood in his chamber, looking out
on the moons surface.
"Iczer-2, it does not matter whether you choose to obey me or not. For
now, my strength is restored, and the mothership can rise from this barren
ball of rock. I shall descend upon the Earth, and claim it for my masters!"
* * * * *
Nagisa stared at the planet that was the /Blue Earth/s namesake. She
knew, now, that she had seen it from here, from space, before. Two
generations before. She had not yet told anybody else about her experience
it wasnt the right time, and she knew that she would be able to tell them
later.
"Taking a good look at Earth because it may be your last, right, Nagisa?"
"Nick, dont say that. Were going to make it back."
"Actually, as long as we take out Darkon, I dont care if I come back or not."
"But the rest of us do, Nick. The rest of us do."
"Uh, guys" Tina began.
"What?"
"All of a sudden theres a huge amount of seismic activity on the moons
surface, tremors of enormous strength!" She said. Then, she stopped as she
saw a small speck of rapidly-moving red light in the distance, heading
towards them.
"Well, it looks like the welcoming committees coming to greet us." Ringo
commented. "Who wants to take this one on?"
"I will." Tina said calmly. Teleporting outside the /Blue Earth/, she
flew towards the red light. As she drew closer, she could make out the form
of the Teknoman - his armor was black and yellow, and he carried a massive,
spiked mace.
"Ah, I see that one of the Kthulhus pitiful servants has decided to face
me." Mace stated contemptuously. Tina scowled
"Great perception there, ya tin-can. Can you see that this "pitiful
servant"s gonna kick your butt?"
"Not in this lifetime, child. Which for you will be very short!"
"Okay, then. Lets fight."
* * * * *
{So, youve come, brother. Ive been waiting.}
{Yes, Cain. Ive come.}
{Its time to end this.}
{I couldnt agree more.}
Blade opened his eyes and looked at the others.
"Theres something I need to do before taking out Darkon." He said, and
those with him in the /Blue Earth/ knew immediately what he meant. He
turned around and headed into the back of the spaceship, where Pegas awaited
him.
"PEGAS, POWER ON!!!"
<Affirmative.>
"Open the interlock chamber!"
The chamber once again swung open, and Blade leaped inside, to transform
and face his twin brother.
"TEKNO POWER!!!!!"
* * * * *
"Iczer-3 are you okay?" Nagisa asked the young warrior, who had abruptly
turned and fixed her eyes on something - Nagisa couldnt make out what - on
the starboard side of the /Blue Earth/.
"Theres something out there something that makes me feel really bad for
some reason."
"Whys that?"
"I dunno it just gives me the creeps. But for some reason I need to know
what it is anyway."
"Okay, Iczer-3. Ill come with you."
"Thanks, Nagisa!" Iczer-3 hugged the green-haired girl, who then turned to
Kawai, Nami and Kiiro.
"Kawai-san, Nami-san, Kiiro-san do you think you can handle whatever
Darkon throws at you?"
"Wont be a problem!" Kiiro said cheerfully, before Nagisa and Iczer-3
departed.
The /Blue Earth/ continued to speed along above the moons surface, heading
toward the central point of the seismic activity - what its passengers knew
to be the Rhadam mothership. Before they had progressed too far, however,
Kawai saw the glint of red light that she recognized as another Teknoman
coming towards them.
"Guys, this should be the last of Darkons Teknomen." she said.
"Well, we wouldnt want to miss the welcoming party, would we?" Nami
commented. "Ringo, remember to pick us up when were done, okay?" The
three Iczelions teleported outside, flying to meet the approaching Teknoman.
As the distance between them lessened, allowing them to get a clear view of
each other, the Black Iczelion smiled in recognition.
"Ah, Sword. You know, I think we have unfinished business from last time."
"You shall not harm Master Darkon!"
"Not very sociable, is she?" asked Kiiro. "Oh well, not someone I really
want to get to know anyway DOUBLE TORNADO!!!" The bolt of yellow energy
shot towards Sword, reducing the debris which had been thrown up by the
tremors to a thick dust which obscured the impact. When the dust cleared,
the three saw Sword hovering unharmed.
"Hah! You pathetic worms" Sword said contemptuously. Then, her armor
began to change, taking a form similar to Sabers new appearance.
"Oh, thats just wonderful." Kiiro said under her breath. "Why cant
Darkon just play nice for a change?"
* * * * *
Nagisas apprehension grew as she and Iczer-3 flew towards whatever had
been calling the young android. She didnt know exactly why, but the
emotion she was feeling was gradually increasing from unease to genuine fear
- the sense of foreboding just seemed to keep growing.
The pair stopped as there was a flash of yellow light in front of them, and
Nagisa stopped as she caught sight of a woman whom, although they had never
met in this life, she knew and hated.
"Ah, Nagisa." Iczer-2 said. "We have the fortune of meeting again."
"But but we Iczer-1 and me killed you."
"And Darkon brought me back. Not that it entitles him to order me around
like he thinks it does." She paused. "And its nice to meet you, little
sister. Now, prepare to die."
"You wanna fight me?" Iczer-3 asked angrily.
"No, Iczer-3! Shes too powerful for you! Youll be killed!" Nagisa
yelled in fear, grabbing Iczer-3 and holding her back. Then, sensing danger
from another source, she let go of Iczer-3 and leaped backward as a spear
flew through where she had been, narrowly missing both her and Iczer-3. As
soon as she let go of the girl, Nagisa saw the two Iczers fly away in
streaks of yellow and green light. Nagisa turned toward her attacker.
"Oneesan"
"As I said last time, you no longer have a right to call me that." Spear
replied. "I only have one thing to day to you DIE!!!" With these words,
Mizumi Kai launched herself at her younger sister.
* * * * *
"Saber! Im here!"
"Thanks for coming, brother though I knew you could hardly refuse." Saber
said. "I know you, and I know that you want the same thing I do to destroy
your brother." Blade stood in silence as Saber continued his monologue.
"You know, I think wed have ended up like this even if we hadnt been
transformed into Teknomen. Weve always been two people who were meant to
be one. The only difference is that this way, the stakes have been raised."
"Enough talk. Lets fight."
"My sentiments exactly."
* * * * *
Nagisa dodged Spears attack, and flew past her, trying to create distance
between herself and her opponent. To fight her sister, and probably be
forced to kill her, was the thing she would have given anything to avoid
but, as it had turned out, she was left with no choice. She fired an energy
blast, which hit her sister, staggering her and leaving Nagisa with the
opportunity to end the battle by ramming her beam-sword through her sisters
body.
But she didnt take that opportunity. She held back, unwilling, even in
the extreme circumstances she was in, to strike the killing blow. That was
her mistake. Before she knew what had happened, Mizumi had recovered, and
flew at her, slamming an armored fist into her chest. Nagisa fell, and as
soon as her body impacted the ground, Spear was standing over her, her boot
on her torso as if she wanted to slowly grind her body into the moons surface.
"You should have killed me while you had the chance. Instead, the one to
die will be you."
END PHASE 2 CHAPTER 5
Next Chapter: The end of the battle against Darkon. To quote Marvel Comics,
nuff said!
Authors notes (not much this time): Certain scenes in this chapter were
inspired by the second-last Teknoman episode, "Beginning of the End" (One of
the episodes which did not air in the U.S.A). Also, readers will probably
recognize the opening scene as being from "Fight! Iczer-One".
Status report: I have to write two essays for university, and after that,
Ill get the first part of my Ranma fic "Lose All, Gain More" done.
Hopefully, the end of Act 2 will come soon after that, and then its on with
Act 3!
Thanks for reading, and Brian, please keep MSTing my story :-)
