i had this nasty thought, which would take the Akane/Ranma relationship
 in a drastically different direction from the "Bitter End" or a number of
other
 fics.

AKANE'S SECRET

SCENE: Cat Cafe interior, quite obviously closed due
 to the lack of people.

SHAMPOO (entering from street): "Great grandma, I home!"

COLOGNE (enters from kitchen): "Ah child, and how was
 your sparring with future son-in-law? Did he beat you?"

SHAMPOO (giggles as she walks past COLOGNE): "Not only
 beat me, great-grandma, he spank!"

There is a crash as COLOGNE falls off her staff. COLOGNE
 shakes her head and stares at SHAMPOO as SHAMPOO goes
 upstairs.

COLOGNE: "No, I couldn't have heard right. Old age must
 be finally affecting my hearing." (COLOGNE gets back up
 onto her staff.)

SHAMPOO (offscreen): "Now Shampoo understand why Akane
 so violent."

COLOGNE (flinches): "It is because neither of them are
 any good at dealing with their feelings and both have
 extreme levels of pride?"

SHAMPOO (still offscreen): "Because airen won't even
 hit her when sparring, so how she going to tell him
 she likes it rough? Akane never be spanked, how sad."

COLOGNE (picking herself up from where she's fallen
 again. Looks towards door.): "Ryouga, if you don't
 stop it with the nosebleed we'll have to charge you
 for cleaning the front of the building."

COLOGNE (muttering): "Kids these days..."
