You know, there was a big discussion on alt.fan.sailor-moon a while
back, maybe last summer, about something along this line. I'm still
baffled that some people have no grasp of the concept of "emotional
reality" and insist on harping on minutiae despite a coherent
explanation.

Maybe the adamant critic was having some kind of denial reaction and
trying to hide behind "facts." 

In any case, you did all you could in responding the first time; try to
not let it get to you. (I know, that's easier said than done.)
