to point out a couple things.

There will ALWAYS be a risk of something like this happening. Why?

Simple.

American laws change, subject to what the people feel fit.
If enough people can be convinced that this stuff should be unlawful,
and they convince their
government representatives, then yes it could and would happen.

No, this warning isn't '. . .complete fluff. . .' If the government AT
THIS TIME, right now, can claim
the Anime pics along with the live pics, then invariably a connection is
possible.
Simply put, photography is a form of speech, yet is still censorable in
America, so I try to keep up
with this. What makes you think text is any more protected, even if it
is fiction?
Which isn't to mention that we already ARE breaking laws in America by
writing and circulating
FanFiction, which qualify's as '. . .some kind of law.'

However I feel that as for the interent this WILL NOT affect most of us
immediately. Why?

ONE: I've been new to the anime scene for about 3 months, and have been
an OAV junkie for some
time. :)
Anyone familiar with SoftCel, of ADV? My first from them was a -very-
tasteful 'End Of Summer'
which featured children, which by definition means under 18 in US,
engaging in consensual sex.
This has been published on a large scale and ADV wasn't attacked.

TWO:, if its 'for the good of the children' then they can already pack
up and go home. Children can't
get ahold of internet material by themselves. They need a computer, a
phone line, and an ISP, none
of which they are likely to furnish themselves, you know?

Well, for one thing, YOU should regulate what your child has exposure
to.
Secondly, if this case is to be made, then in the words on Todd
McFarlan, ". . .you. . . have more
serious problems with your child than to be pointing any moral fingers
at me(us). . ."

And lastly, your computer have a modem, or a network card?
Yeah?
Don't like what you see?
Take it out.

Don't like whats on TV?
Un plug it from the wall.

Don't like your childs friend showing them the stuff?
Don't let your child play with that other child.

While child pornagraphy IS ILLEGAL right now in the US, and Anime(or any
drawn) pictures of sex
are not directly illegal, people can easily append the two together when
attacking child pornography.
I take this very sensitively because I had nude models of a young
daughter and mother, in sheets in
a field, that were attacked several years back as pornography.

Child pronography is illegal, regardless of your personal feelings. It
is against the law and should be
attacked, until it is no longer against the law.
