This was my main problem with it too. Ranko has just -too- much power and
goodies, and the story stops -dead- while Skuld goes through the 'shopping
list.' Furthermore, a complication that could have provided a very
interesting story arc ("You I kill!") is sidestepped by a deus ex machina so
transparent as to turn the stomach.
Still... it's not like Takahashi-sama hasn't introduced characters with
similar levels of cheesiness herself... (I keep thinking of Rouge...)
Yes, but Rouge was an unstoppable bad guy. (And even she wasn't
simultaneously a goddess, the queen of a ninja clan, the daughter of
Bill Gates, and a great nuclear physicist who just invented cold fusion)
