Hi, long time no see. I'm sorry this has taken so long, life has
recently become extremely busy. Another two weeks and I'm on
Summer vacation so I may (though I'm not positive) have a little
more time. But don't hold your breath. Oh well, to the fanfic.

Ranma universe is Rumiko Tagahashi's. I am nothing!!!

Possibilities
Chapter 6

"Alright. Here's how I see it," Nabiki began professionally
sitting across the bed from a once again female Ryoga. She had
insisted the boy change back `just in case.' Ryoga suspected she just
wanted to put her off balance but was in no position to argue. Nabiki
continued.
"You have several major problems. These are:" she began to
tick them off one by one on her finger. "One, you are being pursued by
quiet a few of the male students at school and you are afraid you will
get yourself into some sort of predicament because of your natural
stupidity," Ryoga opened her mouth to protest that that wasn't what she
had meant, but was cut off before she could begin. "This is, I feel,
likely,"
"Two, right now you have to spend almost twenty-four hours a
day as a girl with no end in sight." Nabiki gave her.customer.an
almost amused smile.
"Three, Akane and quite of few of your other friends at school
have been pressuring you into situations and actions which you rather
avoid," the mercenary continued to smile, enjoying the other girls
discomfort.
"And Four, Ranma being Ranma," she gave Ryoga an
inquisitive look, "Am I missing anything?" she asked sweetly. Ryoga
shook her head. "Alright then." Nabiki trailed off as she reached over
to her desk and pulled out a large notebook and a piece of paper.
"I don't really think I'm going to do anything about Ranma for
you. It really wouldn't be profitable for me to help you with him," she
seemed to be looking at something on one of the pages as she spoke.
"However, the other three problems I think I can handle." She began
flipping through the ages as she continued, sometimes stopping for a
few minutes to read something, sometimes barely glancing at the page.
"Now, when I take your case, I do it with the full expectation
of being repaid."
"But I only have-" Ryoga was cut off by a gesture from
Nabiki.
"I won't expect it all at once. I have a very good payment
plan with very low interest rates," Ryoga began to get a little nervous.
She wasn't sure, but she doubted that a payment plan was something
that most people needed when they did you a favor.
"Alright," Ryoga replied hesitantly. Really, what choice did
she have.
"Now back to your problems. I think I have a solution to
your." she paused, "boy troubles," Ryoga visibly winced. "And I
should be able to arrange something by tomorrow night. I'll give you
more details when you need them." Nabiki once again returned to
perusing her notebook. "As for your difficulties with your friends, that
one is very easily solved. Ask Akane to help you," Nabiki didn't even
glance up. Ryoga tried to hide the nervousness she was feeling. The
fact was, most of the problems in that area were Akane's doing to begin
with. Getting Akane's help was something she could not do.
She tried to explained this to Nabiki, "It's just that-"
"It's just nothing," the mercenary held up her hand to stifle
any further protest. "I know my sister and if you ask her to help you
she will," Ryoga attempted to protest once more she was once again cut
off, "End of Story."
The lost girl stared at her in frustration. She couldn't ask
Akane! Every time she tried she would just end up doing something
else completely ridiculous. Wearing girl's clothes, going to school,
doing homework, all of it was Akane's doing. She was doomed!
Nabiki ignored her clients distress and opened her book once more.
"Now, your final problem is the most difficult," she wrinkled
her brow in concentration. Ryoga, still less than relaxed glanced up at
her. "Perhaps." Nabiki trailed off, obviously talking to herself.
"Wait here," her tone brooked no argument as she stood up and left the
room.
Ryoga stared as she left. This was beginning to seem, less and
less like a good idea the longer she stayed. It was too late to back out
now though. She surreptitiously began to look around the room. She
had been in here before, once or twice with Akane, but never for long
and never alone. The room was clean and uncluttered, almost Spartan
in its appearance. On the table next to the bed were numerous
notebooks and papers of various sizes. Ryoga tore her eyes away
quickly. She didn't know why, but Nabiki made her nervous, more so
than just about anyone else she had ever met.
Suddenly, the door opened and Nabiki walked back into the
room, carrying a small ordinary looking notebook, much like quite a
few others that were present in the room. Ryoga was very thankful she
had resisted the urge to take a quick look around. She hadn't even
heard Nabiki coming. For someone with no martial arts training Nabiki
was suspiciously good at stealth.
The girl opened the book and began to hurriedly flip through
the pages. Curiosity overcoming good sense Ryoga uncurled herself
from her position and slid a few feet over trying to peer at the book.
She was given a rather threatening look for her efforts, however, and
was quickly cowed back to her former position. After about ten
minutes, Ryoga began to reach the point of absolute boredom. She
tried to hold back a yawn but with no success.
"Are you still here?" Nabiki asked distractedly. "I won't have
an answer for you today. I let you know," Ryoga bit her bottom lip,
never one to take a hint.
"Leave!" Nabiki said, never one to give them. Startled, the
pony tailed girl quickly got up and left the room, still not sure whether
she had made the right decision or not. Nabiki, she knew, was honest,
in her own way, but she had heard enough stories to know that those
she helped rarely got what they had expected. She sighed. There was
nothing else for it, she would just have to wait and see what happened.
"There you are," Akane said coming up the stairs. "It's almost
time for practice you know," Ryoga stuttered and started to apologize,
but before she could get a word out Akane interrupted once again.
"Come on, Usaki and Asoki are waiting," she said leading the girl
down towards the dojo.
Ryoga had found a rather innovative, if completely
ineffective, solution to a Akane's continual prodding about sparring.
The Tendo girl was not exactly a weak martial artist, however she was
far below Ryoga's level. Besides, she didn't think she could actually
hit her friend, even in sparring. Not that she would tell Akane that, she
had seen how the short tempered girl reacted to Ranma's continual
declarations that he `wouldn't fight girls.' So she had decided to find
an alternate approach. As it had turned out, that approach was to enroll
in the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial Arts. She had figured
that as a new student it would be months at least until she was expected
to spar with anyone. Nabiki had instantly raised her rent to include the
lessons fee. She hadn't complained too much. She really didn't have
that much to spend the money on anyway.
Two things had served to make this particular solution less
than optimal, however. First was the style itself. Unlike the other
fighting arts she had picked up in her travels, anything goes was not a
specific selection of attacks and defenses. Instead the style combined
anything and everything you knew, and some stuff you didn't. Since
Ryoga had been picking up martial arts since she had been a child she
had easily adapted. It was really more of a philosophy than anything
else.
The second thing that she hadn't expected was who her
teachers would be. At first she was to be taught by Soun with help
from Genma. However, the latter, never disposed toward any sort of
work, had come up with a plan to suit the both of them. He suggested
that since Ranma and Akane would one day inherit the dojo, they
would be the ones to teach her. The perfect plan to draw them together.
Sound had agreed whole heatedly, the two friends completely in
agreement.
Ryoga wondered in what world the two older men lived. It
was obvious, to her at least, that Ranma and Akane hated each other
with a passion. They fought like wild animals every time they were
together. Several of the earlier `training sessions' had degenerated into
out and out fights.
The lessons, though not exactly what Ryoga had been hoping
for (a way to get out of having to fight Akane), were serving a useful
purpose. Since coming to live with the Tendo's she had realized that
she was beginning to get out of shape. Usually, on her long trips she
spent quite a bit of her time working on training. However, since
coming to Nerima she had been spending less and less time on practice
and more and more with her new friends.
When she had first learned what the two older masters had
done she had been rather distressed. True Akane was nice and a good
friend, but Ryoga really didn't think that the girl had the knowledge
necessary to teach her anything. She would admit, albeit reluctantly,
that Ranma might possibly be slightly better than her in a few area's,
though not that many! However his ego made it almost impossible for
her to learn anything from him at all.
The two of them together, though, seemed to work out
perfectly. Ryoga didn't need to worry about pounding Ranma's head
in as they practiced, Akane took care of that for her, and it didn't matter
that Akane wasn't up to her skill level as Ranma could supply the
missing ability. Thus, the practice sessions did more good than a whole
day of training by herself usually did. It was a new way to learn, and
Ryoga found that she liked it.
The lessons were not, however simply private training for the
lost girl, however. To Ryoga's amazement, upon hearing of it a few of
Akane's closer friends had decided to join them. She had come to
know Asoki and Usaki better and better over the past several weeks and
was starting to become rather close to the two girls. However, for the
life of her hadn't been able to figure out why they would possibly
choose to learn the any fighting style at all. Never extremely outgoing
she had been afraid to ask.
She was also learning in another area as well. As Asoki and
Usaki had never even considered studying the Art before now, they
were rank amateurs. They also had some really strange idea's about the
Art. After one particularly grueling class Usaki had made the comment
that this was the hardest way of getting guys that she knew of.
"Getting guys?" Ryoga had asked completely floored by the
statement.
"Of course. Why else would I be doing this," the girl had
responded as if it was the most obvious reason in the world. Ryoga had
tried to think of something to say to that but had come up empty.
"I guess it isn't that obvious, but look. The only two girls I
know who study martial arts are you and Akane. The guys are
constantly after you even though I haven't seen you say two words to
one the whole time you've been at Furikan. Akane isn't nearly as cute
but she's got almost as many after her, and she's even engaged. Before
you came she used to have to fight just about every guy in school every
morning. The way I figure it is, for some reason the male mind must be
attracted by fighters. I know I have the figure, now all I have to do is
learn the art. And," she added with a smirk, "I won't be so stingy
toward them as you two." Ryoga hadn't really known what to say, and
had been afraid to even ask Asoki why she had signed up.
That day's session had passed as usual. Ranma had tried to
get her annoyed, and eventually succeeded, but not before Akane had
pounded him into the ground. Then she and Ryoga spent some time
helping their two friends. Finally the day ended with Ranma and
Ryoga doing a little `friendly sparring," which, amazingly enough
ended up with only a small amount of property damage. Relatively
small that is, considering who it was.

It was only about ten minutes after they had finished their
session, while Ryoga and Akane were waiting for Ranma to finish up
his bath that they heard a terrified scream come from the bathroom
where they knew Ranma was. Akane was instantly on her feet and
headed toward the source. Only a few seconds later Ryoga followed.
As she approached the source she saw Akane slowly close the
bathroom door and walk away an expression of pure rage etched into
her features.
Ryoga lost her temper. What had that jerk done now! She
threw open the bathroom door and stormed in, only to see a very naked
Ranma being held by an equally unclothed, and very affectionate girl in
the bathtub.
"Ranma! How dare you cheat on Akane!" she yelled her rage
taking control. The girl looked up, and seeing the enraged lost girl in
the doorway gave Ranma a questioning look.
"Who stupid yellow girl?" she asked completely ignoring
Ryoga's look of hatred.
"Who are you calling stupid?" Ryoga yelled at the girl that
was ignoring her. How dare she talk about her as if she wasn't there.
Ranma however, took advantage of the distraction and escaped from
her arms, and was soon out the door.
"Shampoo calling you stupid. You make Arian leave," the
purple hair responded as she stood up in the bath.
Ryoga, who had up to this time been to enraged to pay much
attention finally registered the fact, that standing before her was a
naked, wet, and very beautiful girl. She did what she always did in this
type of situation. She lost consciousness.

Ryoga woke to a wet cloth being placed on her head as she
slowly opened her eyes. Above her was Kasumi gently applying a wet
cloth, next to her sat Akane a concerned expression on her face.
"Are you alright Ryoko?" Akane asked peering down at her
roommate. Ryoga sat up slowly supported by the two sisters. She gave
her friend a weak smile and nodded. Akane didn't look convinced.
	"What happened?"
"I.well.I fainted," Ryoga said quietly a blush coming to
her cheeks.
"Oh. I guess you saw Ranma and that bimbo of his," Akane
said anger leaking into her voice. "I should have warned you. I should
have know seeing a naked guy would be a little much for you," Ryoga
didn't respond, mentally thankful that Akane had once again jumped to
the wrong conclusion. Most of the time she didn't even have to lie.
Someone would come up with the perfect explanation for her.
"Who was she?" she asked, slowly standing with Kasumi's
help.
"Her?" Akane somehow was able to put both outrage and
derision into that single word. "She's Ranma's Chinese bimbo. The
one I told you about. Apparently, she found out that he was a guy after
all," she was almost able to sound as if she didn't care. "She has a
Jusenkyou curse too. She's the cat," Ryoga's mind flashed back to the
small feline that had come in the mail earlier that day.
"Her great grandmother showed up a few minutes after they
got out of the shower. She supposedly three hundred years old or
something. Ranma chased her out of the house, they've been gone
since you disappeared." Ryoga looked around, then paused to listen.
The house was quiet. Yep Ranma was gone alright.
It was almost fifteen minutes later that the young martial artist
returned looking completely exhausted. He wearily greeted Kasumi,
looking completely worn out, and told them he was going up to get a
bath. Ryoga rolled her eyes, as if anyone cared what he was doing
anyway.
A few minutes later a very loud, very feminine scream could be heard
coming from the bathroom. Soon the entire Tendo household was
gathered in the bathroom to see a naked, female Ranma starring at the
water and repeating "Hot, hot, hot!" Akane placed her hand in it, then
pulled it out.
"It's barely lukewarm," she said surprised. Ryoga carefully
avoided the bathtub. It may be only lukewarm, but there was no point
in taking chances.
"Whad'ya mean lukewarm. It's scalding!" Ranma said,
seeming upset.
"Ranma are you alright?" Akane asked actually sounding
concerned. "Why don't we visit doctor Tofu."
About half an hour later, Ranma, Akane, and Ryoga were
sitting next to the afflicted martial artist in Tofu's office as he
examined her. Ryoga was there just in case Ranma had something
contagious she needed to know about. She most definitely was not
concerned about that egotistical jerk!
"Well Ranma it seems she used an ancient amazon pressure
point, it causes your whole body to be as sensitive as a Cat's Tongue,
one of the most sensitive organ's of any animal. I'm afraid that until
you are cured even the most tepid of water is going to seem scalding to
you," Tofu spoke clearly with the confidence of a healer.
"You mean, Ranma's stuck as a girl?" Ryoga said, not sure
whether she should be happy, sad, or simply confused. She finally
decided on confused, it was rather well known territory after all.
"You can do something for her, can't you doctor?" Akane
asked, Ranma so nervous that she didn't even notice Akane's reference
to her in the female as the three stared expectantly at Tofu.
"Well," the doctor thought for a moment. Before he had a
chance to continue however, Akane cut him off.
"What was I asking. Of course you can, you can do
anything," she gave him a look that said she was absolutely confident
in his miraculous powers.
"Actually," Tofu continued seemingly unaffected, "I don't
think I can do anything at all. This pressure point should only be used
by someone with training in the ancient Chinese healing arts. I
definitely couldn't do anything with it."
"You can't do anything. You mean I'm stuck as a girl,"
Ranma was on her feet an expression of horror crossing her face.
"Well.I can use another Pressure point. The old-men
Tokyo," as the doctor spoke he gently place his hands on the small
redheads back and pushed, ever so slightly. "It should allow you to
tolerate any water, no matter how hot. However-", he was cut off by
the phone ringing. Akane quickly picked it up.
"It Kasumi," she said without thinking. Suddenly the young
doctor gained an acute case of imbecility. The three remaining young
people decided that this was probably a good time to leave. Whatever
the doctor had been about to say would have to wait.
