The traditional apologies to WW and Tybalt...
Ed usually posts these himself, but asked one of us to
do it for him, as he should NOT be at a computer screen.
He was on KawaiiMUCK for about five minutes tonight, and
here's what he had to say (for those just tuning in, Ed
recently had a spinal tap):
"I just found out why my headache wouldn't go away, which
is why I can't stay long. Turns out that I have a small
leak in my spinal membrane. From the puncture, you see...
it hadn't close the way they expected it to. So I'm
leaking fluid just as fast as I'm building it up. Their
solution? They stuck me again, injecting my spine with
my own blood (ick!) in the hopes of forming a clot. But
I can't remain upright for very long. If all goes well,
I should be okay in about two weeks. That's about how
long it's going to take the leak to heal on its own.
Can someone inform the list for me? i'll try to stay in
touch as best I can, but...well, i've been upright for
less than 5 minutes talking to you, and the headache is
coming back. I've got to go before it gets worse."
At that point, we all kinda yelled at him to go lie down
and get some sleep. As you can see, Ed's life is just a
roller coaster ride lately. So keep him in your prayers,
but don't write and expect him to answer back. All we're
doing now is waiting and seeing what happens next.
Sorry to be so blunt. Here's hoping things turn out OK.
