[I have no idea if this was bcced to FFML or not. I'm assuming it was, since
it started by addressing me in third person.]

It seems to me that you were really hammering home the idea that CT was a
utopia, perhaps too much of a utopia, to the point where you're beginning
to cheer the Black Moon so they can get rid of these brainless citizens
who look to the queen for their purpose in life. Or at least I was,
because every other CT story gives the citizens *some* credit for
thinking. A bit too Orwellian for my tastes, I guess.

I'm trying to keep to canon. I find the concept of Crystal Tokyo a little
questionable, but I can't just have Serenity casually brainwashing everyone in
the city, and I can't have her ruling by fear.

So the alternative is that the citizens put up with it all because they're
used to it and that's how it's always been.

Regarding the scene where the droids start blasting the church and the
museum: I can't see the senshi allowing themselves to be worshipped like
that. I guess the church set it off: in a country that has never been
terribly fanatical about religion, it seems a bit odd for them to be
worshipped so strongly.

There are quite a few religious undertones in the original series. Usagi is
a moon goddess, she has a grail, she is called the messiah and saves the world,
she recreates the world after it has been destroyed.... I'm just taking these
to their logical conclusion.

energy shot out of the sky. But they weren't coming from the ships, or the
invaders; they were coming, at trans-light speed, from their own planet. The
black planet Nemesis that approaches the inner solar system only every
thousand years.
I think this sentence is a fragment. Argh, I told myself no grammar
remarks...oh well.

It's intentional.

Plum seems just a bit too pitable. It's just as easy to say she/it is
just atool to be used as it is to say she/it is totally evil. I'm not
overly enamored of her.

This part is mainly just to introduce the characters and the background and
get everyone into one spot (and I still haven't managed to introduce Hikaru).

Next comes the story of the rebellion. The Black Moon is gone--they got
defeated in the 20th century by Usagi. But the world that Serenity returns to
was starting to get used to living without her.... (Which is also the reason
for the July 4. Does anyone know some good Japanese history dates I can use
instead that look a little less obvious?)
