This is pretty damn nifty so far... if I have any complaints, it would
be that the dialogue follows the movie a little too closely in several
parts.
It's following the movie a little too closely in many ways, much
more than the first part did. Ranma and Ryoga are too closely mapped onto
Han and Luke. For example, both characters use their blasters far too
much. Why not have Ranma simply *punch* the comm on the detention level,
and have Ryoga smash the controls on the bridge? They're much stronger
than their SW counterparts, and would prefer a physical scuffle over a
shooting match. They should be using the sort of methods *they* would use,
not those Han and Luke would use.
Furthermore, shouldn't Ryoga be getting *lost*? And how is it that
Akane can kiss him on the lips without causing him to pass out with a
nosebleed, leaving her to swing them over the chasm? The best parts of the
story are those where the characters bring their own peculiar twist to the
story, not those moments taken straight from *Star Wars.* There didn't
seem to be nearly as many of those moments in this second part.
