Everybody seems to be having their own ideas about Tenchi Muyo, especially
on Manatsu no Eve.  Here's some arguments and my two cents worth...

1.  What continuity does it follow?

    OAV for a variety of reasons, and solid at that.  Solid, meaning it's
there, the clues are everywhere and they're in plain sight, and not on the
improper attempt in the english dub version. ^_^.  The house, the
mannerisms, the light hawk wings, etc...

2. Why is MNE similar to Shin Tenchi?

    For those that have an idea what eventually happened in Shin Tenchi,
you'll find that the bad guy...or bad girls for this matter, are very much
alike.  Their stories are very similar, they both have dark past, they did
the same things to Tenchi, and to Sasami...but of course Yuugi will live in
the Masaki home....^_^ (Ha! Keener knows what I'm talking about.)  And the
additional girl, Sakuya in Shin die in the end.  (WAAAAAAA!!!!)  (And, Shin
is not crap...IMHO) ^_^

3. MNE a meld?

    This wasn't the first time.  Mihoshi Special...which is an OAV
episode/insert, is actually the first attempt to meld all Tenchi
continuities, including Pretty Samy.  And it won't end here.  Tenchi Muyo!
in Love 2 will be another meld...or so I heard. ^_^  If you know any Shin,
you'll realize it in an instant that MNE is an OAV continuity, in a Shin TM
storyline in the sense of the antagonist, how Sasami was kidnapped, how
Tenchi was reflecting on the new girl in her life...etc...blah blah blah.

4.  Synopsis of Shin Tenchi Muyo!?

    In Love and War and Tenchi Muyo! is the definitive page for Shin TM!
(P-R-P Chan...here's where you'll see it.  Check out how it ended, and
you'll be amazed how similar the two are.)

5.  Why is MNE still not in the Philippines?

    For who knows what the reasons are....GAD-AM-IT! I have to get it now!!!
I just can't buy EVA VCDs all the time, you know!  I only need 5 episodes
left in my NGE collection...and I already have Death and Rebirth, because
... no DOD yet.  Arrgh! -_-';;
