Hello there, me again. I'm
not sure how well this one is going. This is just the first part, I should
have the second part all done and out by...Tomorrow? It's pretty
short.
Azusa-chan
This was brewing in my mind a
whole day. After thinking this
one up, I wondered if things might have
been a little different
if Shanpuu or Cologne had my devious mind.
>=) There is, of
course, mild swearing. I have wanted to write
a story like this
for some time, but I just got the inspiration this morning
while
trying to wake up. =) I didn't intend for this first part to
be
so short, it just kind of wound up being that way. My
stories
kinda write themselves. Ranma 1/2 is property of the

*****Forget Me Not*****
Part
One:
Who invited you over so late?
It was late at night. A
storm was brewing, outside and at the
Tendou residence. A small,
shriveled form sneaked inside,
followed by a tall, womanly
form.
"You sure this plan work, Great-grandmother?"
the tall one
asked.
"Of course! We erase all their
memories of eachother, erase
everyone else’s of the previous
memory-altering incident, and
make future son-in-law forget he didn't want to
marry you. This
plan is foolproof!" The form cackled
quietly.
Ranma woke up the next
morning. He went downstairs, yawning
loudly. "Hey,
Kasumi! What's for breakfast? I'm starving!"
Akane was already downstairs eating breakfast. She blinked.
"Who
was that, Kasumi?" she asked.
Kasumi blinked.
"Why, it's Ranma. Why are you asking?"
"Who?"
Ranma got all the way downstairs
and saw Kasumi talking to a
strange girl. She was short, kinda cute in
an unassuming way,
and totally unfamiliar.
"Who is that,
Kasumi?" Ranma asked. "A transfer student?"
"Who am *I*? I live here! Who the hell are you?!"
The girl
stood up, her face flushed red with fury. It made her
even
cuter.
"Oh my," Kasumi said, worried.
"Did you two have a bad fight
last night?"
"Fight? But I've never seen her before in my life!"
Ranma
was puzzled. "Who are you?" he asked the
girl.
"I'm Akane! I live here! Who are you and
why are you in my
house?!" Akane looked in a bad mood and ready
for a fight. :Uh
oh,: Ranma thought. :I hope she doesn't try to
hit me cuz I
hate fighting girls.:
"I'm Ranma! I
don't know who you are, but my dad and me have
been living here for a while
because...Because..." Ranma paused
to think. "That's
weird, I don't remember why we came here in
the first
place."
"Mr. Saotome is your father?" Akane
blinked. "I remember he
came here because...Uh...That's
strange. I can't remember!"
Kasumi took charge, for
probably the first time. "Akane,
Ranma and Mr. Saotome came here
because our father and his
father decided you two should get married and
carry on the
school of anything-goes style martial
arts."
"WHAT?!" they yelled in
unison.
"I'm not engaged to anyone! I hate
boys!" Akane paused.
She realized that she no longer liked Dr.
Tofu. She knew there
was a reason why, a boy that had finally captured
her heart.
But she couldn't remember who.
"I'm...engaged
to Shanpuu," Ranma said. "That’s odd, it feels
weird to
say that. Like...I've never...said it before..."
Akane took a good look at Ranma. :He's...certainly familiar.
Good
looking too.:
:Why did I just wince? I felt for a second
like Akane might
hit me...: Ranma thought.
They walked to school
together. Everyone was confused. The two
no longer reluctant
fiancees were being quite civil. They were
talking and trying to get to
know eachother better. Shanpuu
watched from the shadows,
furious.
"She no remember anger, so they getting along
good! Is no
fair!"
It was true. With no
memory of ever being angry at Ranma,
she was looking at him with unclouded
vision. The only faint
memory of him that sparkled in her mind was a
feeling of love.
He had sheepishly explained his curse to her. She
thought it
was a bit weird, but she didn't say anything.
They
were falling in love again.
A tear trickled down Shanpuu's
cheek.
Shanpuu wiped the tear away, disgusted with
herself. She
must be a weak amazon to be crying! She plastered a
smile on
her face and went down to greet Ranma.
"Nihao,
Ranma! You come take Shanpuu to date, yes?" She did
her best
to look cute.
Ranma blinked at her. "Sorry, Shanpuu,
but I'm engaged to
Akane. I don't want to marry
you."
Shanpuu was shocked. She had erased all his
memories of not
wanting to marry her! And all the times when he had
thought she
was annoying! All he remembered about her was good stuff,
about
every time she nobly sacrificed herself, all the heartfelt 'wo
ai
ni's...
Akane booted Shanpuu away, because Shanpuu was too
busy
thinking to dodge. "Hmm, I wonder why I did that?" Akane
said,
thinking aloud. :It felt like a reflex,: she
thought.
Akane and Ranma spent every spare
moment together. They were
trying to figure out why they seemed
connected, so familiar.
The longer they were together, the more their
feelings for each
other grew.
Shanpuu was constantly watching
them from the shadows. :This
just first day,: she thought
optimistically. :By tomorrow, they
hate again, yes?:
Authors notes:
This is my
second fanfic of length. I'm starting out feeling
very confident and
optimistic, which scares me. =) To me, that
means this fanfic is gunna
suck. I feel like I have to be very
careful with this story, because
this deals, in detail, with the
ties of love and how strong they are. I
haven't written any
romance before, so I'm really wingin' it here. What
do you
think so far? E-mail me any time, I'm always open to
comments
and complaints.
