Whoo boy...

You can say that again.

You should have been the one receiving them.... They were not....
pleasant, for want of a better term....

To the rest of the FFML: I apologize profusely for this piece of
spam, but it was something that really and truly needed to be said.

Yes, and I apologise profusely for starting this thread. However, I can
but say that it was a cry for help in a situation where I was not receiving
any logical explanation for his words. And considering the situation as it
stands, that is not likely to happen.

I am subject to emotions, like everyone else, and I did not think this
through when I went ahead with it. My intention was to find out the
experiences of others with Chris Davies, and what that may entail in
reference to my experience.

I guess this was expected, one way or another. I wish people out there
realize, that anime is not reality, and fanfiction is not...life. (I wish I
had a better word)

I wrote "Usagi is Dead" for fun. It was my first "real" fanfic (if you
ignore my "Sailor Python" tale). I did not expect to receive this kind of
response from someone in the anime fan community, let alone the fanfic
community, which I expected to be a great deal more level-headed. It has
certainly damaged my faith in anime fandom.

Nevertheless, something happened...what do we do?

1. First, DDFA doesn't have to go to that level. It shows immaturity, as
Chris had shown, if he does.

I shall not respond to Chris any further. I have decided to leave it
there. I see no reason to report him to his isp, as it will deny us the
opportunity to read any future fanfics he may write (and I like some of his
work, it's not as if I've given up on Chris entirely).

So, you can be rest assured you shall not see this kind of thing from me
again.

2. Turn a leaf, guys. It won't be that bad for the FFML if the two persons
involve would just stop talking to each other.

Indeed.

3. To the other people on the FFML, see what happens when you take this
anime/ff business too seriously. Gee...

I don't take it all that seriously. I do it for fun. Or, at the very
least, did it for fun once. The fun has almost gone out of it because of
this.

Thanks for listening

Thankyou for your comments. They were made with a great deal of thought.

P.S. Those letters were obviously private ones...we shouldn't have seen
them, and that kind of trust, even if it was done in generel distaste or
hatred, wasn't for the whole FFML to see. I would have asked members
privately as well. (There are kids here, if I'm not mistaken...and seeing
e-mails threatening a person's life would just be too unappetizing)

Ah yes. I agree, and as I said, I shall not pursue this matter any further.

BUT!

I was but a stranger to Chris when he made his initial contact. If he can
do it to me, then he may, in the future, do it to someone else. I know,
for a fact, that he treated Douglas Helm in much the same manner when he
was writing the Sailormoon fic, "Mama's Hand". It would appear that Chris
has very rigid views on what should be written in SM fanfics.

One of those "younger" members of the FFML may be, in the future, a target
of Chris's wrath, if they happen to write something that he doesn't agree
with. Perhaps that is another reason for my initial (and ill thought out)
posting of his mail to me. To show people what can happen when you DO take
things too seriously.

Just a few thoughts from me. Thanks for commenting on the matter.
