Aside from the humorous or pity value, this could serve several

other

purposes.  Think for a moment, if you perused the day's FFML posts

and

suddenly, you see no familiar names in the 'From' field.  Why, you'd
have to read fics that look good no matter what the author! Imagine
what a chance that would give to the little authors who get snuffed

out

in the mix.

Do you realize that the only way this'll work is if people forge the
From: fields into being different addresses? It was pretty easy to
identify Flo... I mean Nadochi from his return E-mail address.

	I said that in my sig.  There isn't a REAL way to change everyone's
from field, but you can make it harder to sort out the big people from
the little people.  When all you have is a string of letters and an @
symbol, it takes extra work to assign an e-mail address to a name. 
Unless you're the head of a cult following of person and know the
persons name as well as any aliases they use and their e-mail addresses
backwards and forwards.
