Aside from the humorous or pity value, this could serve several

other

purposes.  Think for a moment, if you perused the day's FFML posts

and

suddenly, you see no familiar names in the 'From' field.  Why,

you'd

have to read fics that look good no matter what the author!

Imagine

what a chance that would give to the little authors who get

snuffed out

in the mix.

Do you realize that the only way this'll work is if people forge

the

From: fields into being different addresses? It was pretty easy to
identify Flo... I mean Nadochi from his return E-mail address.

I think the real point that the original poster was trying to get
across is that this would be something similar to e-mail Halloween
costumes, simply changing the identity in the header, as I've done. 

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that the idea in itself was
incredibly stupid to begin with...
