Hmm, doesn't this sound a bit like making money off of fanfiction?
I'm not
going to lecture anyone on the ethics of writing fanfiction but I
don't think
this competition is in the right spirit so long as there are prizes
involved.
I'm not going to attempt to defend my position if this starts a
thread on the
FFML, but think twice before you submit to these people.
100% agreement. This award not only goes against the spirit of
fanfiction, it also stands a good chance of getting a *lot* of people
in trouble if the wrong persons happen to learn of its existence.
Besides, people, we're not *writing* fanfiction for awards, here.
We're writing them to appreciate our favorite anime.
To the good people of the FFML: I urge you not to participate.
To the people running the award: Do you *really* want to run the risk
of getting yourselves and any poor authors foolish enough to enter in
*serious* hot water?
To Tybalt: Doesn't the original announcement post count as a
solicitation?
