Well, they've only been advertising it for the past
couple _months_ as "Best Ranma Fanfic Poll of 1997"
and since it _is_ the only poll currently on the FFML
(and one of two on the web) they probably thought
nobody would be stupid enough to misunderstand them.
Obviously they were wrong.

Or were they stupid enough to try and imply that is was
some kind of "official" poll that the  FFML had something
to do with in order to hype their fics?

Now this has gone too far.

You've continued to fling unsubstantiated accusations, Ki'var or whoever
you are.  You have no evidence to support your claims, yet you continue to
make them.

We are not interested in hyping our fics.  You will notice that neither
Nick nor I were in the top three - if we were "rigging" the polls and
interested in "hyping" our fics, obviously we would have placed our fics
in the top three.

We are not affiliated with the FFML - if you'd bothered to check, you
would have seen that same message on the Ranma ML, raac, raaf, and raai.
And indeed, nowhere and at no time did we say we *were* affiliated with
the FFML - indeed, it's difficult for me to think how someone could come
to that conclusion.

Our intentions have been clearly stated on our web page - that we wanted
to know what the readers thought the best Ranma 1/2 fanfics were.  That's
it.  Nothing more.

So please cease and desist this mud-flinging of yours.  You only hurt your
own reputation by doing so.  Our poll and our methods can withstand the
highest scrutiny.

If you have any facts to support your claims, Ki'var, by all means, let me
(or the FFML) know.  But otherwise, please stop with the insults.

A final note to the FFML at large: let's please stop posting on this
subject in public.  I think everyone clearly understands what's happening
here, and to continue to post on it is counter-productive.  Rather than
arguing about polls, we should all be writing fics!  ^_^
