Reunion:
Luna and Artemis
A Sailor Moon/Teknoman Crossover
Written by Christian Clark
Date: April 12, 2100
Seeing everyone go through this war has got to be one of the hardest
things that I had to watch. Even though Artemis and I have over 2000
years of experience underneath our belts if we had any it didn't help
in the least seeing our students die one by one.
But when we finally got word of Darkon's demise, hope began to come
about. But, instead of what we wished were the end of this accursed war,
those last three teknomen still created havoc. No matter where you were
or went, you were always considered one of their targets.
We of the Solar Moon are fortunate enough to not worry about such
things. Yet, in our attempts to give help and relief to those suffering,
those teknomen and their spidercrabs persist in making the lives of the
innocent miserable.
Fortunately, not all the recent findings have been bad. About a week of
so after Nephlyte left to search for Darien and Reeni, we got a message
from him. He found Reeni! It appeared that she found safety with a small
band of orphans that had been able to survive ever since the invasion
began. When we last talked with him, we expected to have a few extra
guests to be brought back when Nephlyte was to return. Everyone agreed
that we would take care of these children to the best of our ability
until proper foster parents would be able to take care of them.
Going back to the bad news, there's a separate malignant being creeping
around where ever we are. Mina spoke to Artemis and I about it from time
to time, and at first we thought that gaining the dark side of her power
must have made her hallucinate. Now, I can say that I don't doubt her
any more.
For some odd reason, ever since I detected this presence on my own,
it's been paying a little extra attention to me. I wondered why as I was
heading into one of the safer towns in my human form.
I found a small capsule, about four centimeters long and two
centimeters wide in Amy's room. It seemed like it was simply discarded,
and was nearly empty save for the small traces of its former contents at
the bottom. I would have thought nothing of it, but given my limited
knowledge of such things, I needed to see someone who knew better than
I. And I had a feeling that it would be best to see someone not of our
own.
As I was passing by a playground, I noticed a single figure, appearing
to be about early to mid twenties. But that wasn't the thing that stood
out. The person had absolutely no color on his or her person. I
couldn't even tell what gender this person was. Given the somewhat large
set of clothing on the stranger. What was worse was that this stranger
smiled at me, waved, and went back to staring at the sky.
I had a bad feeling about this person, and so I ran as fast as my human
body could. After gaining a good distance from where this stranger was,
I turned a corner and lo and behold, the stranger was waiting for me.
"Remember Luna." Was all the stranger said in a gentle, yet strong
voice, tapping my forehead. Then, I passed out, only to wake up about a
half an hour later. Then, the memories that had long since been
forgotten returned to me.
During the Silver Millenium, we of the Moon Kingdom had limited
relations with the Teknos. Although Queen Serenity and the one named
Neigas understood each other rather well, there was not really that much
need for them here. So, as a gesture of good will, he left with us five
of his greatest warriors, as a way of giving us assistance to help us
from Beryl and the Dark Kingdom.
Surprisingly, the Teknos priestess, Salian was among his group when they
came to visit us. Artemis and myself introduced ourselves and I
discovered that she and Artemis met a while before he met me. Artemis
simply left without a word to her. I figured that their last meeting
didn't go well. A few months after she and Neigas left, the Dark Kingdom
attacked.
Those brave warriors did not seem to last that long against the power
of Metalia and the Dark Kingdom. Yet, we would have suffered much more
had it not been for them. I remembered that after the sealing of the
Dark Kingdom and Beryl, there were only two of them left. Tarxis and
Aust were their names I believe.
Also, being loyal to Serenity, they lent their remaining power to her
so she could send us all from the moon to Earth. I only wish I knew what
became of those two, but it was most likely they perished along with her
highness.
There was another memory, but it went far beyond the time of the Silver
Millenium. It was much farther still.
There was this being. A being of immense power, that simply did as it
wished about galaxies. It was one of many who did the same around the
universe. This being, as it was, cared for nothing about life. Many
suffered because of this. But, it's reign of terror ended when a large
precession of monks that lived in this system, sealed the monster. Soon
enough, the rest of that being's race was sealed up in a very similar
fashion. Even then, the being would not be deterred, so, it split up
it's power into one child from every planet of the Solar System,
proclaiming that one day, it would return.
Fortunately, the few remaining monks found the children and brought
them up into the light. And ever since then, those descendants of those
children were named the Scouts of the Solar system. Up until this
present day, we never knew where our powers came from. What makes matter
worse, this being's influence seems to be surfacing into our own scouts.
And I hold the key to awakening this monster. But why? Why is it me?
There has to be a reason.
*************************************************
Why I found myself heading to the Space Knight command center, I had no
idea. Luna said she had some business to take care of in town, and since
everyone else is about as tense as a long tailed cat in a room filled
with rocking chairs, there was nothing else to do. Not only that, there
was this odd person that told me to remember. After that, I fell asleep
for a while, and thought nothing of it until later.
Walking along the mountains, I noticed a single man, performing katas
along the edge of the mountain range. I tired my best to be quiet, but a
sliding rock ruined my chance to get past him and I slipped.
Would have fallen all the way down to the bottom of the mountain
range, had it not been for that pig-tailed boy. I could have sworn that
I've seen the guy before. Either way, the guy said how cute I was and
carried me down to the edge of the facility, where I was able to escape.
I was able to sneak off with a spare uniform and change into my own
human guise, making going about this place a bit easier. As I sneaked
through their facility, I couldn't help but notice a familiar presence,
one that I haven't felt ever since the Silver Millenium. I could have
properly pinpointed, but after seeing a rather unusual sight in one of
the large rooms.
The two people within the room were a short space apart. The a rather
lean and feminine man, with short red hair, was stepping in front of a
slightly shorter Japanese woman, with long purple hair, playful eyes,
and a rather feline look about her. It looked like the woman was just
learning to walk again, and the man was teaching her how to do it, like
as if that poor girl was paralyzed for a while.
I smiled to myself and let them be, searching for that odd presence.
Although the crash, the cry of pain, "OW, MY FOOT!" and the apology,
"Gomen, Merril!" surprised me, I decided not to follow the matter. And a
gut instinct reinforced that decision. In all the years I've lived, you
NEVER ignore your gut.
When I found her, she seemed to be in the middle of some kind of
meditation. I slowly stepped into the large room whose only other exit
was the large window to the outside. From what I remember, the Priestess
Salian hadn't changed a bit. In appearance maybe
"So you're still around, eh?" She said to me.
I nodded.
"Doesn't make sense that you should be. Animals of your origin don't
last THAT long." She said, turning to me with a rather suspicious glare.
There was no doubt about it. She had never really changed since we last
met.
"There's a long and complicated explanation for that." I replied. Not
even knowing that she could kill me at the drop of a hat. She only
smirked back at me.
"I have the time. Why not tell me? After all, you told me everything
when we finally met in the flesh all those years agoand especially
after we met." She noted, bringing back a rather bitter encounter to
both of our minds.
I begrudgingly remembered the reason why I changed myself into a cat. A
rather bitter affair with a certain priestess had driven me past the
point of insanity and the only way to bring my mind back was to transfer
it to the body of an animal. So it could receive the proper amount of
time and the right environment to heal.
By the time the healing was complete, my first body had long since
turned to dust. So, I was trapped in the body of a Methusan Cat. Doomed
to live for as long as some of the monarchs of my home system. For
nearly three centuries, I stayed within a monastery, cleansing my mind
and soul for the horrid things I did.
Then, I met Luna and Queen Serenity. I found a new purpose. Guiding the
sailor scouts of the solar system into the ways of good and light. Luna
was there for me when I needed help, and for that I would be eternally
grateful. With the time that passed, I got used to living as a cat, in
fact, I didn't even mind it at times.
So, I told Salian of all that happened since our little tryst, how I
constantly regretted ever meeting her in the first place, and so on. She
seemed a little distraught about losing her five friends that decided to
stay with us. It was rather surprising that this no, you only drag
yourself down when you hate someone. I had no intention of losing it
after so long, and getting a body back.
"So, considering what I've been through, you got off pretty easy." I
sneered.
"Easy? You've got some gall to say that. If you know what I went
through, then you'd think differently." She retorted.
"I'm so sure." I growled back.
"You don't know where I came from. After I was born, bruises around my
body was a normal thing. The reason being that every one of our youth is
put through strenuous training to make us all strong. Regardless of how
much it hurts. And because I was built more similarly than you apes, it
hurt much worse for me than a normal child of my race. I received no
sympathy from almost anyone at all, no matter how hard I tried, how hard
I pushed; I was insulted.
"The only member of my family that I received any kind of love was from
my father. It cost him his honor to defend the weak little whelp that
was his daughter. He did his best to make sure that I grew up to be a
good person, and warrior.
"But when I was chosen by the Mother to become a member of the Teknos,
my entire home town was outraged. Claiming that I was too weak to be one
of them. For receiving the dream alone, I was disowned by my own people!
Once more, my father rescued me from certain death, by taking me with
him and living where no one else did.
"For the rest of my father's life, he took care of me until he
perished. I can never forget how different his training was compared to
the traditions of my people. He preferred patience and gentleness rather
than swiftness and ferocity. I almost didn't want to continue living
after I discovered one morning to find he didn't stir, nor would he
ever.
When I was on the verge of death, Neigas came and took me from that
wretched place after giving my father a proper burial.
"Other then my father, Neigas was the only one who treated me well. I
was still relatively young when I became a Teknos, so Neigas became my
surrogate father until I was more than capable of going about by myself.
"I didn't know how much Neigas knew about matters of the heart, but a
short while before he perished, I could almost see something more in his
eyes when he looked at me. I too, felt the same for him. I wondered if
he wanted to treat me more than just a ally in his cause and dream. But
by that time, Darkon had ruined it all. He killed the only one that I
ever had any feelings for."
By this time, my patience with this woman had grown thin, she had a
rough life true, but that gave her no excuse to ruin mine! "This is nice
and all, but I'd rather get straight to the point of my visit." I lied.
Her dark scowl returned as I continued, "Where's Slade?"
Silence, as I figured.
"Salian, I know people that can help him recover. There's no need to
let time do it when we can heal him right now." My argument was suddenly
silenced when Salian's fist punched through the wall beside my head and
she was growling in my face, with her sharp teeth baring
"He WILL heal. But he does not need help, especially from you or your
precious princess. When he recovers, he will make his presence to you.
But in the meantime, if you wish to end your life right here and now,
continue to pester me with your needless questions!"
I could say nothing, nor did I dare. So, in a complete hate for this
woman, I left the compound. Not even caring that people gave me odd
looks as my feline portion of my body started to make itself known.
*************************************************
Luna sat in the darkness of Amy's room in her human form and in a
rather miffed mood. When she did reach town, she discovered a rather
interesting fact about that substance that was in the small canister.
It was an insert canister, used by people with artificial limbs to
inject stimulants into the body. The reason being that it could keep the
contact between the rest of the body and increase performance between
part and body. The only problem was that this particular substance was
many times more powerful that the standard type. In fact it had a name
from the days where it was used more frequently, or should she say,
abused.
The most common name it had over a century ago, was 'dope'.
Amy was injecting illegal drug into her body, without even telling
anyone. An explanation was definitely in order!
The very second the door opened, Luna hid more in the darkness and
watched one of her finest students. Getting on her bed, Amy reached into
the nightstand and pulled out three small canisters, filled with the
same substance as before. A small hole appeared on one of the plates on
her shoulder, and with her right hand, inserted them all, one at a time.
With that, she leaned against the bed frame and winced in pain as the
drugs slowly took effect.
"AMY!" Luna cried, stomping out of her hiding place.
The accused looked in horror as Luna stood by her bed and hissed, "What
in the name of the Creator are you doing?!"
"Luna you don't understand" she tried to get out, but was interrupted
as Luna continued.
"Try me Amy. I've heard a lot in my lifetime." Luna growled.
Quivering, Amy replied, "The implements my computer placed on me were
using older models for cyborg parts. When I discovered that I needed to
continue using these stimulants, it was too late. I wanted to quit using
them, but the only way to make these cursed parts work properly was to
continue using them. Now, I have to inject this poison into my body, and
the amount only increases with every week."
By then, Luna's anger was suspended when she asked, "Haven't you been
able to find a way to discontinue your need to use these?"
Any's real eye widened and let loose several tears as she cried, "Don't
you think I've tried?! But with the aliens and everything else, I can do
nothing. Not only that, not matter how much more of the drugs I take,
the pain is only growing. I want to stop, but I can't. IT HURTS LUNA!!!"
With that, the woman once known as Sailor Mercury began to cry with no
control from her only real eye. All the while mumbling, " it hurts"
By then, Luna had forgotten her anger. Instead, she crawled onto the
bed, and repositioned Amy to lay in her lap, letting the crying woman
sob on her shoulder. Luna kissed the top of her head and stroked her
hair, wanting to make the pain that made Amy cry to go away. Sadly,
doing that seemed to be the only way that could have brought any sort of
comfort to the disfigured Amy.
End of Chapter 6
[WH comes out again.]
WH: Before you say ANYTHING, behold. [Brings out a mirror and places it
on the wall.]
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall
Who's the most evil author of all?
Mirror: Even a blind man could easily see, the most evil author is thee.
YES!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Now, I am not going to kid you folks, I want your
flames. I want 'em BAD!! I've taken your precious senshi and put them
through the worst of all hells! Now, I want to hear your wails of
anguish, your cries of defiance, hoping that this is just a nightmare
that you are witnessing.
And the odd things is I bear no hatred against the senshi/scouts. In
fact, I like them a lot. But when you write stuff like this, you gotta
push your preferences aside if you want to write something good. But,
keep in mind that I will find a way out of the pit I dug them all in I
hope.
Now, I doubt that Naoko really went into the pasts of the cats that
much, so I incorporated it into a story that brought Artemis to Luna. It
also makes for good angst. I might come about Luna's past in another
fanfic, so watch for it.
The being that's been harrowing the cats will be explained soon. I
promise. So will this being from which the senshi got their powers.
BTW: The little crash that Artemis saw was supposed to be Nuku nuku and
her boyfriend from Z-Tron Dreams. It looks like she's gotten back on her
feet again.
On a final note, the whole idea from which Mercury using drugs to keep
using her cyborg parts was inspired from the anime that you can watch on
the Scio-Fi channel '8-Man After'.
Be prepared for the next chapter where more fighting and revelation
comes about in the form of Solar. Be prepared!
