what if
Akane took all those mean things Ranma says at the end of
the first Shampoo continuity to heart? What if she started
to believe her thighs were too thick, etc., and started to do
whatever it would take to make herself thin?
I thought of this after reading the Bitter End, but the idea that a fic of
mine might draw comparisons with a work like that was too depressing for
me. Yup, that's right, I found the Bitter End depressing on many different
levels. ^_~ Go figure.
Let's not give Zen any ideas, shall we? He already depresses me way to much.
Bitter End is not the most depressing Ranma fic i've ever read {that candle
goes to Ranma 2096} but still.... he would have way too much fun with this.
It also occurred to me a while back, when everyone was talking about
Nabiki, that this might be an explanation for her ability to eat all the
time and not gain weight. What if she were not anorexic, but bulimic? She
would likely be spending all that money she works so hard for on binge food
and purgatives. I've toyed with the idea of doing a fic on this (the
Nabiki idea, I mean).
Ooo! Me like. It would explain an awful lot about Nabiki, wouldn't it? Plus,
you could have these real cool scenes where instead of extorting money from
Ranma... I can see it now...
<Entering dream sequence>
Nabiki: Now Ranma, you wouldn't want me to play this tape of you insulting her
to Akane, now would you?
Ranma: Alright, Nabiki. <whips out wallet> How much this time? I've got four,
maybe five hundred yen...
Nabiki: Actually, Ranma, this time you can just do me a favor. I have a few
errands I need run. First, I want you you to make a quick stop at Ucchans. I'd
like two... no, three of her deluxes. Then perhaps a visit to the Nekohanten
and on the way home you can go by the market and get me some expectorants...
Ranma: <piku> Uh... okay....
<end dream sequence>
I'm a bad, bad man.
