Off-C&C: I've occasionally toyed with the idea of a fic where Ranma
discovers he has zero aptitude for teaching others. He's as bad at
passing along his fighting skill as Akane is at cooking, and can't seem
to improve no matter what he tries. Ranma then has to face a future
where taking over the Tendo dojo just isn't a possibility. Anybody want
this idea?

I like the idea. Being able to DO something and being able to teach it
well can be two quite different things. I suspect trying to teach someone
who couldn't pick things up as fast as he does would drive Ranma bonkers.
He would move at too fast a pace, or get frustrated when students of less
talent struggled to learn what comes so naturally to him.

I actually had a similar idea when I started my "The Reckoning" Ranma fic.
The basis of that whole fiction was "Those who can, do. Those who can't,
teach."

Of course, I had to turn it into some mystical thing with Loremasters and
Artmasters and stuff, but it was fun having Akane be the Loremaster.

Maybe sometime FAR in the future I'll pick that one up again.
