accepted procedure for C&C? Is it assumed that C&C should be sent
privately, or should it be posted to the mailing list for all to see? Most
of the responses for my own story have been sent to my email, rather than
posted, and I've mainly done the same, but speaking for myself, I wouldn't

In that same direction, how about MST's? Are they supposed to be
generally posted, or sent to the author first?

I believe C&C should remain private, but that's just me. The only C&C that
should be made public is if the comments would actually help other writers out.
Comments like (I suggest you write the story in past tense because that's the
way people tend to write.) or (You rushed ahead with the bank scene and made it
go by too quick. With intense scenes, like barfights, the writer should deal
with the feelings and pain the main character is going through rather than his
actions. You don't write something like 'He got hit, and it hurt.' Rather, you
should write something like 'He was hit from the side in the ribs. The blow sent
bolts of pain shooting through his body causing him to wince)
