Well here is my two cents on the whole conversation.

Quite simply, I am looking forward to reading both your fics.  But please,
as a reader, and hopfuly a writer, I beg of you, don't try to turn this into
a competition, and especialy don't try force someone to put out a chapater a
week.  That is not conducive to writing good fics.  If you are up to it,
then great.  However, I know from personal experience that It can take a
while to write a story.  It took me almost three weeks to write the first
chapter for a fic I am working on, and I have yet to start chapter 2.

I look forward to reading both your fics.  This is all that I am going to
say on the subject.
