After a short hiatus, during which time I have suffered
computer failure, a hard drive crash, a mysterious ejection
from FFML because of 'too many bounces' and a family
loss, I believe I have developed enough callouses on my
ego to try again. Therefore, if you folks don't mind,
I intend to start posting draft chapters of Macho Caballo Part II
to the FFML.

I have decided that while the question of whether MC merits
acceptance as 'anime related' is important, it is not so
devastating as to require me to withdraw from that section
of the human race which loves fanfics. If anyone at all has
enjoyed it then it I would like to think that Macho Caballo
is a success.

My intent when first posting Macho Caballo was to fill a gap
I perceived in the fanfiction world. Also, I wanted to explore
a couple of questions:
- How could Ranma 1/2 be told in a different setting?
- How would the Ranma concept translate - not only into a different
language, but into a different culture?

At first, MC was to be a side trip for Ranma and troup as
they travelled through history and tried to find a cure for
their curses. In Mexico of the early 19th century, they
were to meet a boy with a curse similar to Ranma's.

That was the original intention. Then the 'Macho' story became
more interesting and I ran with that. I dropped the Ranma theme altogether.
(Maybe someday I will return to it... then Ranma could duel a
blue-caped figure who swings a mean sword and quotes Cervantes
- Korro! El Trueno Azul de Mexico!)

James Eades - James and the Bluejay.
