This story is a crossover between X-Men (well, at least one character
from X-Men) and Dragonball Z. I would really appreciate C&C from anyone
familiar with one or both of the series but I hope that anyone familiar
with one will be able to follow the story.

Continuity: This happens sometime after Trunks returns to the future
and after a certain redhead enters the timestream (gomen... can't find
the exact issue number)

Disclaimer: X-Men and all related character belong to Marvel Comics.
Dragonball and all related characters belong to Akira Toriyama and Toei
Animation. Nothing but the story itself belongs to me.

Days of the Futures Son
(at least 'til I think of a better title)

Prologue

Streams of temporal energy flowed past her, as she was driven, bandied
about by the eddies of Time. Images passed her from a myriad of
instants from Creation to Destruction back to Creation. Light and
darkness swirled and exploded in front of her eyes and in her mind in a
clouded miasma. So she drifted.
She was going nowhere. Having given up her place in Time (though it
had not really been her own time) so that a friend could return to his.
There had really been no choice...he belonged there and she didn't. So
she drifted.
Tossed to and fro, here, time had no meaning. She had no idea how long
she had been her...and it didn't matter. There was nothing to measure
it against. Then was now was later. So she drifted.
	Until...
	She collided.
With something much larger than her.
She was forced before it and dragged in its wake all at the same time.
And when it dropped out of the time stream, so did she...sort of. It's
wake gave her extra momentum and sent her a little farther than the
object she collided with.
She manifested herself in mid-air, only semi-conscious. The world
around her _hurt_. Much of the life here had been _destroyed_ and had
only recently begun healing itself. She screamed and fell to the ground
hard and fast. As she hit, for a brief moment, an aura in the shape of
a flaming bird flared around her and then the lights went out.

Trunks sat outside of the Capsule Corporation. Dusk was falling,
streaking the sky with red and orange and staining several drifting
clouds pink. A warm breeze teased at his midnight blue jacket and
lavender hair causing several lengthening locks to stray about his face.
'I'm going to have to get this cut again,' he thought brushing it
behind his ear.
It had been four months since he had returned from the past and
defeated the Jinzouningen. He continued to train but it was mostly out
of habit. The goal that his entire life had been aimed for had been
accomplished, and, frankly, he was bored. It was not as though he had
nothing to do...that was definitely not the case. Many people needed
help and he was glad to lend a hand, but...there was nothing left to
strive for.
So, he sat watching the sunset. It was rather strange tonight...there
was more light than normal...or was that just in the last few seconds?
Puzzled, he stood and squinted. It was definitely brighter, just to the
right of the setting sun. Then, he felt it. It was more power than he
had ever felt before. It was different though. It had the same basic
feel as the ki he was so familiar to manipulating, but in a different
tone. It seemed more... fiery... more vibrant than the ki that he knew.
The wave of this new power washed over him, and then disappeared like it
had never existed.
With almost less than a conscious thought, Trunks flew off in the
direction it had originated from.

End Prologue

Author's notes:

Yeah... I know that X-Men and DBZ is a weird thing to cross. This is
the product of a late night conversation with my younger comparing and
contrasting two certain characters from bleak futures. From that
conversation, we realized how much they had in common. Then I got and
idea. A terrible, horrible, awful idea (sorry, I just watced the Grinch
tonight) and this was the result.

I have up to chapter 3 written but I don't want to flood the list so I'm
releasing one part a day.
