If both the stranger and Ukyou are hospitalized, shouldn't Ukyou already be
there?

life.  This stranger KNOWS of the Ranma 1/2 universe, and thus throws
this resopnse: "Yes, Ranma.  Ther is something you can do for me. 
Have your dad adopt me so that I can be engaged to Ukyo."

Why would Genma have to adopt him before he could get engaged to Ukyou?  

What do you think?

This is an interesting start, but more is needed.  What happens next?  

It might be interesting to have Ukyou take a liking to this guy, and dump
Ranma in favor of him.  After all, Ranma can't stand to lose at _anything_;
his reaction to this turn of events might well be quite amusing.
