[Warhammer comes out amid singing from the light.]
WH: Dying is easy... living's the hard part. But it's more fun that way.
Teknos Warhammer presents
Seraphim's Judgment:
Epilogue:
The Ikari Redemption
The light that had descended from the skies settled in the place where
the demon EVA once stood. The light soon faded and in its place, a man
stood. His simple white shirt, pants, and sandals would have made any
man doubt that this simple looking man was the Creator. Even His
semi-youthful face and white hair would make him pass for almost any
other man.
He turned to Sera and the lifeless body of Nodoka and began to walk to
them both. Sera cringed and held Nodoka closer, not allowing rational
thought to enter her mind. The man knelt in front of them both, reached
forth his hand and placed it upon Sera's quivering shoulder.
The voice from the man was gentle and soft as he spoke, "There is
nothing to fear Seraphina. Look." He then placed his hand on Nodoka's
head and spoke gently. "Nodoka. Daughter of the Teknos and of Earth.
Awaken and continue to protect."
When his hands left Nodoka's head, the glow within her eyes returned
and Nodoka gasped as the air of life returned to her lungs. She started
to cough horribly, but it eventually vanished. The man looked up to Sera
and smiled. Her only reply was shock and amazement at the miracle that
just occurred in front of her.
With that done, he stood up and walked over to where the body of the
Seraphim lay. He knelt by her body and picked her up to cradle the angel
in his arms. She opened her eyes slightly and said weakly,
"Father... have I served thee well?" In response, He nodded and replied.
"You always did my daughter. Now, return home and rest. You have earned
it." Then, another pillar of light descended and seemed to take the
wounded angel from His arms to carry her above to the clouds.
After Seraphim had returned to the heavens, he turned to where Reina
had taken a seat to watch what had happened. They gave each other a
single glance and He walked past her to the reason for His visit. When
her back was to His, she said,
"You know, I'm kinda surprised that you came down here."
He smiled and replied, "Don't be, you're not supposed to be. Remember?"
Reina only smirked more and leaned against the wall adjacent to where
she was sitting.
Reaching the personnel of NERV, He walked through the multitude of
people awe struck in whom they thought this to be. Among them all, he
went to the only man he wanted to talk to. Gendou Ikari.
Gendou turned as his shoulder was tapped by someone. He blinked a few
times at the man who was dressed in something that not everyone exactly
wore. "Are you..." the man only nodded and said with no smile on his
face, "Gendou, we need to talk."
Just then, everything and everyone around them vanished. All that Gendou
saw was barren ground and a giant sea of orange as far as the eye could
see. At the very edge of that orange sea was that same man, garbed in
white. Curious, Gendou walked over to the edge of the sea, knelt down,
and picked up a handful of the orange liquid. It felt as the exact same
was as LCL!
"That's because it is." The man said.
"What do you mean?" Gendou asked, letting the LCL fall back into the
sea.
"Gendou..." the man said as he stood up, "What was the reason you
joined SEELE in the first place?"
Like so many times before, silence was the only answer before the true
one could come out. "At first, it was just for the good of man. Then,
when Yui was lost, she came first above all else. To get her back."
"Even at the possible cost of the human race?"
Gendou could not deny the truth, and nodded. "I wanted her back, not
only for myself, but for Shinji as well. More recently, I realized that
I never really did know why I joined with the likes of SEELE."
The man smiled, "In a way, that's good. You see, several of us above
were not exactly happy with what you were doing. But recent events
changed the opinion about you."
Gendou was really confused at this point. "But what is all this... this
sea of LCL?"
"This... is what would have happened had the HCP come to perfect
completion. It would have reduced mankind to this. To put it most
simply, a sea of spit."
He looked at the man in shock. If this was what was to happen, what
were they doing wrong? They all the correct tools: the Evangelion, the
Lancea, and Adam.
"That's where you're wrong Gendou. What you and the Angels have been
fighting for was a lie. It was never Adam you found, it was Lillith."
Once more, Gendou was shocked. Yet, it seemed to make sense. With a
figure head of someone holy would cause only advancement. The opposite
would only bring de-evolution and that was what Lillith was.
"That is correct. But there was another flaw in the thinking of you and
SEELE. What you sought for was spiritual evolution. Causing the human
race to become more than what they were. You and SEELE tried to force
the human race to evolve at a point where it was far from ready.
True advancement for any form of life cannot be given. It must be
achieved. Only through perseverance can such a thing be obtained, and
even then it takes much time and patience.
The reason why I made evolution the way it is for life is because it can
be sustained that way. But when something is forced, it moves into a
territory where it has no room or time to adapt and inevitably dies off.
That is what you and SEELE tried to do, Gendou. Send humanity to its
death. Whether they wanted it or not."
Gendou's head hung low. The truth weighed on his shoulders like a ton
of bricks and could he do nothing to shrug it off. Now he knew where he
was. It was an alternate Earth where he got his wish. The HCP project
complete and him back with his family... in a sea of spit.
He turned up to see the man was holding his shoulder, and He was
smiling. "Gendou, I didn't come here just to show you this. I also came
here to say that you saved everyone. Your son, your wife, everyone."
Gendou stood up to meet the man, face to face. "Why? I don't deserve
all this praise! I nearly killed my wife, I committed adultery, I
abandoned my son, and..." Then he walked past the man and several feet
away before stopping.
"Gendou, that's another reason why I wanted to talk to you. You still
have a chance to set things right. Not only that, I need your help,
humanity's still in danger."
Gendou remembered SEELE being taken out by the UN. It was a little more
than obvious why. The Evangelion as potential weaponry. He figured it
was too good of a chance for those power hungry slugs to pass up. He
turned to see the man was smiling and nodded the affirmative to his
assumption.
"Oh and one more thing..." the man said.

With the EVAs of NERV without power, they all sat down against what few
buildings that were standing. The pilots were able to get out without
much difficulty, even with no power.
Touji and Asuka were standing against the prone head of Asuka's EVA,
not even minding the snow that fell.
"That was some to do, wasn't it?" Touji asked the German girl. She only
stared at the little flakes as they fell, but still had enough knowledge
of what he was saying to nod. Then she turned to him,
"Touji, were you scared?"
He turned to her, blinked, and then answered, "Yeah, who wouldn't be? I
mean, going through all that, another Impact was about to occur, and
then that last EVA..." he paused for a second, "and of course... seeing
that thing hurt you made me pretty mad. What was worse was that I
couldn't do anything."
"You really mean that?" She asked. He nodded. So, she leaned against
his shoulder and said, "Good, then I'm glad you're ok too."
Touji was about to put his hand on her shoulder when...
"Just WHAT do you think you're doing with my daughter!?!" A voice
screamed, which sent both pilots scrambling everywhere since they didn't
know where the voice came from. They both turned to the semi-ejected
entry plug to see a woman's head sticking out from the edge. Her short
brown hair barely covered her gray eyes, which were filled with
disbelief and anger. That was when Asuka spoke up.
"Okaasan?"

In both EVA Units 00 and 03, the remaining LCL started to churn and
stir. Tiny particles of matter spun faster and faster until they fused
into something bigger. More and more matter started to form into larger
chunks of living matter.
Then, it started to grow to the size of human body, sucking up more LCL
with the increased size.
The mass in Unit 03 began to grow dark and form a much larger body than
the one in Unit 00. Little by little, the intricacies about each one
were found and then formed into what they were to be.
When the formation stopped, the entry plug in 03 was occupied by a
large African American man. The man's hair was one of the few things
missing from his well kept physique, but time would correct that. He
opened his eyes through the half filled entry plug and to the snow
covered sky. That was when Edward Hecatonchires realized he was free
from his prison.
In Unit 00, a small pale body awoke from the puddle of LCL that still
covered her body. She climbed up to the edge and saw in the distance the
powerless husks of Units 01, 02, and 03 and realized where she was. She
ran a hand through her short blue hair out of the way of her face and
smiled, she was home again.
*************************************************
Shinji leaned against the side of the semi-ejected entry plug of Unit
01, staring at the sky. He wondered what exactly was that light he and
the others saw, but his thought were interrupted when he heard a gasp
behind him. He turned to see a woman, with soaked, short, dark-brown
hair, coughing out a little LCL.
Widening his eyes, Shinji realized who this was. His mother had escaped
from the Evangelion!
"O... Okaasan?" Shinji stuttered, walking back to the woman within the
plug. She nodded simply as her son wrapped his arms around her body. Her
prayers had been answered. Whatever powers that be decided that she
should be back here and no words could describe how grateful she was.
From behind the purple EVA, Reina flew in with her 'older' sister,
wrapped in a blanket left among the wreckage. She placed Koorichi/Rei I
on the ground and then left to go pick up her other sister.
"I believe everyone will want an explanation. So, I'll be back in a
minute. No point in leaving everyone in the dark." Reina said, flying
through the trees to where her sister was still.
The child climbed up the side of the EVA to meet with Yui and Shinji.
"Well, it appears that you're pleased with coming back Yui-san." The
small child said with an evident maturity.
Yui and Shinji turned to see the child-like version of Rei, covered
with a large blanket. The elder woman nodded and replied, "I'm really
happy this happened, but I'm not sure how."
A third voice answered for her, "That's because the Evangelion has
served its purpose with you. Now that it has nothing more to do, it has
returned you to this world."
They all turned to see a white garbed man, with Gendou standing behind
him. Gendou looked around the man and saw his wife. He then turned to
the other man and said,
"Is... is this what you meant by..."
The man only nodded. Gendou then turned back to Yui and walked to the
woman in the plug slowly. Almost expecting it to be either a dream or
hallucination. But as he touched the woman's hand and she smiled to him,
tears began to develop from his eyes.
He whispered her name quietly and in response, she pulled him to her
and embraced like they hadn't done so in a long time. Which they had
not.
The man sighed and then said, "I would be more than happy to allow
this, but there is something I need to talk with the Children and the
former souls of the EVAs about."
One by one, the large man from Unit 03, Kyoko, and the other Children
came to the head of Unit 01 to see what the man had to say.
"Even though there's no more threat of another Impact, there is
something I want to request of you all." He said standing against the
spire of Unit 01's face. "In the future, the might of the Evangelion
will be needed in the defense of not only Earth, but for the lives of
countless other races. Which is why I still need the help of you who
were absorbed into the EVAs. I cannot personally interfere in the war,
but what I can do is bring as many factors as I can.
"Not only that, the Children themselves will be needed to touch the
lives of several people that only you four can help with. Now, I will
not force you into this. I would never forgive myself if I had separated
you from your families after all you've been through. You will have all
of your lives to think about it. And when it ends, I will ask you again.
I will not argue if you refuse. Not all of you would wish to go through
the same thing again. Please think about it." With those words, another
pillar of light emerged from the sky and blinded them all temporarily.
Through the light, the same voice spoke, "Oh and if you're wondering why
I'm doing this today is the 25th of December, is it not?"
When the light faded, the man and the Evangelions were gone.
*************************************************
Time: 11:35 P.M. December 31, 2015.
Place: Tokyo-2
Amongst the crowd assembled at the park, the Ikari family, the other
Children, and the 'souls' sat and watched the proceedings at the
platform. There was a celebration for the new year going on and several
choirs had been singing, most of them from around the world.
As the final choir was setting up, the crowd talked silently, allowing
the groups to prepare.
Under the watchful eye of her mother, Asuka was able to steal a glance
or two from Touji whenever he looked at her. Inside, she was screaming
that her mother wouldn't let her be. She liked Touji a lot and knew that
her mother meant well, but Asuka wondered if she would be able to get
any privacy at all. Besides, she was getting a little too close to
Edward and wasn't allowing her the same right.
Kyoko and her father had talked about it when she returned. At first,
her dad was shocked and surprised, but thankfully understanding
prevailed above all. Kyoko would be able to start over in a sense and
chose a man whom she'd had known the longest since she was 'changed'.
Edward didn't mind it that much, but he told Asuka that her mother could
be a little 'off' at times and it scared him.
Under the same blanket, Rei leaned against Shinji's shoulder and sighed
happily. Reina and Koorichi, the name Rei I had wanted to use since she
didn't want to be referred as a number, had given her their blessings
about him and knew him to be a good boy. Although Reina had made a
rather crude remark about being an aunt too soon, things had been
amazingly smooth with her sisters.
Shinji's parents had a long time together to be able to talk about lost
time. Yui had known about Gendou's past sins and although she was not
exactly happy about it, she had enough heart to forgive him. Gendou's
demeanor had changed rather evidently throughout the past week. Gone was
the stone gazed and heartless monster that Shinji met when he returned
to Tokyo-3. And in his place was the man that both Yui and Shinji loved
dearly.
At the top of the hill, both Reina and Koorichi stood around a tree
observing the proceedings with varied expressions. Koorichi looked upon
her sister and Shinji with a warm loving smile, while Reina simply
looked bored. Just then, another figure walked up to the tree beside
them and took a seat on the ground.
Blinking, Reina said, "You're going to watch this too?"
The man in white smiled back and said, "Of course. I do the same for
all the other choirs and they're all filled with talented singers. So
why not?"
Reina shrugged as the keyboards let loose a low, yet gentle note to
support the rest of the song. A woman garbed in red and green, trimmed
with mistletoe began to sing.
~ If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope
for nothing is more precious
than the time we have and so ~
At this point, the children's choir behind her sung along, only a bit
quieter.
~ we all must learn from small misfortune
count the blessings that are real
let the bells ring out for christmas
at the closing of the year
let the bells ring out for christmas
at the closing of the year ~
A trine was tapped as the volume slowly increased to the point where it
was suddenly joined by jingling bells and taiko, played by Nodoka's son
and daughter in law. Not only that, a string section, led by a woman
about her thirties with short purple hair*. Also, several guitars played
along with the strings to create the air of joy that seemed to fill the
air.
~ All the trees of the Sargent Major
Covered with the snow right here
sleigh bells in snow were ringing
happiness is in the air again
If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope ~
The children sung the notes while swaying and brought the audience to
clapping in time with the music. A girl with red hair and about ten
years old**, played the bell chimes with another girl with aqua blue in
pigtails***. Beside them, a boy with a trumpet played with all his might
so as not to be drowned by all the other instruments****.
Several children had joined to dance and play at the foot of the stage
and band. Meanwhile, Shinji and Rei had moved to a sidewalk and still
saw the music playing below. He took her hand in his gently, she
accepted it and they began to dance to the music, although much more
slower than the music actually went.
From the corner of Rei's eye, she could barely make out the shape of
Kaworu's body, leaning against the light pole. Only difference was that
he was visible only to her. He smiled at her and nodded in approval. She
smiled back as he faded into the darkness and sighed happily onto
Shinji's shoulder.
With no more Impacts, Evangelions, or angels to worry about, she moved
both her arms to embrace Shinji wholly. And if anyone else could see, a
pair of glowing angel wings had grown from her back, not even touching
her uniform in the least, and embraced him. Still dancing slowly to the
music that continued.
The woman who sang the first passage stepped up as the wind blew gently
about her.
~ Now all the winter bells are ringing
hear them echo through the snow
and the children's voices singing
on the streets so far below
this is a time to be together
and the truth is somewhere here
with all our love forever
at the closing of the year ~
A drum set was heard as another singer began as the shifting of the
music belonged to the string and keyboards.
~ We'll walk in the sun with none of the pain and
all of the patience and all way
with all in the sky and all of us say
don't worry 'bout falling, we'll fly in the hours of time
walk and the way is never far
don't fall (at the closing of the year)
at the closing of the year (at the closing of the year) ~
Before the man finished his lyrics, the man in white thought about
doing something He hadn't done for quite some time. Then He thought,
"Oh, what the hey, why not?" He raised his hands and then a light
expanded throughout the park, then to the city, then to Japan, and
inevitably, the world.
~ If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope ~
~ Then at least I bring you hope.....~
For that short time, all hate, all malice, all matter of evil was
forgotten. Even though it wouldn't last, it would never be forgotten in
the hearts of that whole generation. The best way to describe something
like this was to use something so much more simple.
And there was joy.
Amen.
The End
[Warhammer comes out of the light.]
WH: And we have closure! Yay! Now, I know the ending is very cheesy and
sweet, but which one would you prefer? Mine? Or Anno-baka's? I rest my
case.
Next, I was going kinda overboard with God's divine intervention, but I
think it was enough to get the happy ending for all. Or would you prefer
them as a sea of spit? Once more, I rest my case.
Now, the future thing with the EVAs. They are going to be a part of a
megacrossover that I now know that I will never get to writing[Boo hoo].
I may pass it on to someone else before I leave for a while. If you want
to, make sure and Email me. I'll give all the details in the message.
*= Anju Kitahara from Marmalade Boy.
**= Washu from Tenchi Muyo
***= Sasami/Tsunami from Tenchi Muyo
****= Naozumi from Kodomo no Omochya
Now for the thank you's.
First, I would like to thank Gainax for creating EVA and all of its
majesty and ever present confusing-ness. And I'd like to kill Anno-baka
Hideaki for screwing everyone at the end with the crappy piece of poop
for that bunch of stock footage for an ending.
Next, I would like to thank Takahashi Rumiko for creating her Ranma
characters so I could alter them to my evil tastes in Hammer's Wrath and
put them in this fic.
And I'd like to thank Tenkou Suzuki for created Uchiyuu No Kishi
Tekkaman Blade in the first place. Without it, all these fics I've been
writing would never have come into being. And I would like to thank and
kill UPN for bringing it over here, only to cancel it in mid season when
it was the best Japan to US tv dubs EVER. If not the best dub ever.
And I would like to thank Wendy, Lisa, and The musical cast of Toys for
creating one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard of. In case
you didn't know, the song in this chapter was from the soundtrack from
the Robin Williams movie TOYS. Oh and if the lyrics don't make any
sense, don't blame me, the site I found the lyrics on were incomplete
and had to wing it.
Finally, but not leastly, I would like to Thank God for being a part of
this fic. Even though He didn't come to me personally, I would like to
think he would do something good for everyone, henceforth his appearance
in this fic. Had I offended anyone, I apologize.
Well, that's it until I start to work on my next fic. So be prepared!!
[Warhammer returns to the light.]
