So?

Lurker's been doing that for ages. I stole characters from my own
self-insertion fic to do it. MSTing is a fun way to show your
appreciation for a good fic, and besides, IT'S FUN!

As for setting ourselves up with Anime babes...if the whole damn Eyrie
crew can do it, and Biles can do it, why the hell can't we?

The problem is that MST reviews used to appear only occasionally as an
often witty critique or sendup of a fic. But too many of them are
appearing now. It would take considerably more time to read through all
the MSTs than through the fics themselves. Furthermore, many of the MST's
aren't truly critiques, but are excuses for the authors to make not overly
clever peanut gallery remarks that usually are of no help to an author
wishing to improve a story. MSTs on MSTs seem particularly pointless.
Henry Cobb also brought up the point of the anime companion. Part of the
premise behind MST-3K was that the human had no choice and was saddled with
the robots as his only companion. Having to review fics with a gorgeous
anime babe of one's choice is no hardship (now if someone had to have
Kodachi Kuno and Lyn Minmei as their review companions...). As far as
Biles doing it, consider it compensation for all the blame he receives (but
it really is all your fault, Biles!).
I am not against all MSTs. Some of my favorite reviews are those by the
Muhoshin family (as transcribed by RPM), which are always a treat to read.
However, MSTs of such quality are increasingly a minority.
