To: fanfic@fanfic.com "emotions that cloud
his judgement" So much horror
has been done this
century by those who believed that emotions only cloud judgement. The
starvation of the kulaks, the murder of the Jews, the killing fields of
Cambodia, all ordered and performed by people who believed that their
judgements were cool and rational ones, unclouded by emotion. Allowing a
role for emotions in one's decisions does not mean letting passion overrule
intellect.
The biggest problem I have with Gendou and SEELE is that they do not have
the right to make the decisions they do. They arrogate to themselves the
right to decide humanity's fate by decisions arrived at secretly. They
aren't even elected representatives with that mandate. They do not inform
the world of the choices before them. They and they alone decided. This
is why I despise Gendou and SEELE.
To David Lerman:
I agree with Captain Jack, Gendou is a admirable charactor of Eva's
world.
I admit that Gendou have done many many thing wrong, as left Shiji
alone, used women to fulfil his desire....... At that point we may despise
him, however all he done is only for his dream that he can live with her
wife again.
For his dream, he beared the name of murderer, he left his son, he had
sex with women he didn't love, he risked his life , he said goodbye to his
emotion and he did what he could do.
(A very impressive scene I remember, he ran the power supply by his hand
when Nerv is out of power.)
And I don't think he decided humanity's fate all by himself. (The Seele
maybe) The making "The Third Impact" is planned by Seele, and Gendou he
just wanted to change the direction of this horrible plan (To get his wife
"Yui" back is a main reason) into a milder plan. However he had to confront
Seele, a organization of absolute power even been,
how could he share his dream to others, and dare to reveal his dream? If
you said he decided humanity's fate by decisions arrived at secretly. He is
forced to do that. (I think)
Why don't you admire a man of this charactor. A man who have a calm,
unyielding and iron will.
p.s. I wish you don't mind my opinion, and thanks Captain Jack say
something right about Gendou, and pls notice me if you find any errors in
my letter.
Your sincerely
