I was wondering a couple of things. 

A: What drives a writer to finish or stop writing the story they're working
on?

Urgh.  That's not a small question there.

Some reasons I've seen:

1) Other projects come up and the fic goes on permanent hold. (Biles,
Lurker come to mind - especially Biles).
2) Writer loses interest.  (All of us have this problem.  Happened to me
on HWGA and The Reckoning)
3) Writer reaches the natural ending. (OK, this one was obvious, but you'd
be amazed...)


There's many more, those are the ones I usually hit.

(BTW Biles: Yes, that was a hint!)
