Nekophobia 7: Photographic Memory [revised]

     Nodoka smiled hopefully as Ukyou suddenly broke into a grin
and giggled.  "So you agree, then?" she asked.

     Ukyou nodded.  "Hai... okaachan."  A thought took her, and
she hopped out of bed, favouring her side.

Gack...

Sorry, but she agreed to this WAY too easily for it to be believable to
me.

Okay, she knows Nodoka wants Ranma to marry Akane, but it doesn't seem
like she was convinced at this point that Ranma feels the same way. I
would therefore think she'd be planning to wait her chance to elope 

with

him after he and Akane have a major fight. Being his sister would kind 

of

preclude this.

Not necessarily.  Consider:  Now she'll be right there, in the house, 
when the inevitable (from her point of view) break-up occurs.  
Furthermore, she's smart enough to realize there are 
certain...advantages to living in the same house:

Ranma:  Ucchan!  What are you doing!?

Ukyou:  Oh, don't be silly--We're siblings now, there's no problem with 
us sharing a bath!  *sinking into tub, affording Ranma a view of her 
posterior*  Now, will you stop being ridiculous and wash my back please?

Ranma:  O o
         ^

If she is just giving up here, I would think she'd be a lot more pissed
about having been strung along (as I think she'd see it) for so many
years. This is the Ukyo who threw exploding okonomiyaki at the wedding,
y'know.
