Actually, Stephen, the line is NOT 'flapping their gills', it's
'flattening' the hills', as in 'Straightin' the curves/flattenin' the
hills'. Something a pair of good ol' boys who love fast cars could really
appreciate.. after all, to a racer, what could possibly be more important
that a nice straight, _flat_ stretch of road?
