While I'll miss Urd in this part,
It was with a great deal of reluctance that I threw out "No Need for
Megami-ex Machina", because I *really* liked writing that. However, I
wanted to keep the Aeka/Ryoko/Tenchi triangle driven by Tenchi Muyo
plot forces, and not dependant on crossover to make it work. I've got
some fairly ambitious non-lemon directions I want to take them in,
and I'd like to keep the core of the series pure Tenchi Muyo as much
as possible.
I still plan to do crossover stuff, but the major inter-series
interaction is going to be reserved for Mihoshi and Kiyone. I've
tentatively got them paired with Tamiya-sempai from AMS!, and
Isao Ota from Patlabor, respectively. But that's several chapters
down the line.
Besides, the original resolution was rather implausible, as far as
Ryoko and Tenchi's reactions go. Even Tenchi "Passive" Masaki
couldn't shrug off being whipped to unconsciousness quite that
easily, and when Ryoko showed up, there should have been combat, then
and there. I'd wanted to treat Aeka and Ryoko as equally-unreasonable
(sort of like their childhood flashback scenes from the TV series),
but the "Oujo-sama to Oyobi" stuff makes that impossible, and not
having Aeka's "S" side would be unacceptable.
I must say that you did and excellient
job anyway.
Thanks.
Especially with Aeka's apology to Ryoko. I must have reread it
a dozen times by now.
Glad to hear it. I worked hard on that scene. And I think it's a much
more dramatic resolution than the Urd-driven one.
Perhaps you should consider rewritting some of the internal monolouge of
the characters. They're speaking to themselves remember? The way you write
makes it seem as if they were talking to another person or having a split
personality problem.
It's (supposed to be) more of a "temptation vs. conscience" thing,
like the old American cartoons where a devil and angel pop up on a
character's shoulder. I definitely see your point about the "split
personality problem", but it's a conversation between different
*aspects* of the character's personality -- Aeka's guilt arguing with
her pride, or Ryoko's anger arguing with her compassion. I'll give it
some thought.
Anybody else think these "internal converstations" don't work right?
Other than that, it's perfect. I'll be looking forward
to reading the rest of it.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to writing the rest of it. If only it
weren't for the high lemon content, I could type up more of this at
work. :)
Hassheen!
