[Futaba stomps up.]
Futaba: Hey Adam!
Adam: [piku] Futaba? O.o
Futaba: Hai. When're you gonna finish this fanfic of yours?
Adam: [sweatdrop] Ano... I've been kinda... busy...
Futaba: [peers at the screen] With what? MUCKing? Oh, quite a productive
use of time -there-, I see..
.
Adam: [mumbling] Well, I've had school...
Futaba: Yeah, whatever. So what's the title?
Adam: Er... I haven't chosen one yet. I was hoping that someone on the FFML
would be able to give me some ideas...
Futaba: You haven't? Yeesh, you're a slacker!
Adam: I told you, I've been busy!
Futaba: If you say so. So what kinda fic is this, anyhow?
Adam: Well, it's a Ranma-Futaba crossover...
Futaba: -Crossover-? Oh, very original, that! One of Futaba-kun Change's
first fics, and you have to make it a Ranma crossover. Ter-rific!
Adam: Don't blame me! It was Ken Arromdee's idea; I'm just continuing it!
Futaba: WHAT? This isn't even your original stuff? [rubbing his face with
his hands] Why me? How are we ever going to get animated with writers like
-this-?
Adam: ...
*** Coming soon! The crossover that you all knew was coming, from the
author you've never heard of before! A new fanfic, based upon those two
gender-changing tournament-fighting emotionally-disfunctional series.
Chapter One will answer such questions as:
What will Futaba and Ranma think of each other?
What will Misaki and Akane think of each other?
Who was that tall fellow following Happousai around?
Where did Futana get to?
Will there be any -more- fiancees?
Can Chima beat Genma-Panda in a fair fight?
Will Shiina find a new playmate?
Who will Kunou fall in love with next?
What will the title of the fic be?
This and more, in the first installment of <Insert Title Here!>
***
Futaba: Well, the teaser looks nice, anyway... I see that you put a lot of
effort into it.
Adam: [sarcastically] Thank you.
Futaba: I dunno, Adam... this whole thing looks a little shaky... you sure
you'll be able to handle it?
Adam: [muttering] Hey, gimmee a break, already... it's my first fic...
Futaba: [facefault] ...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His
own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the
other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker
in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards for infinite stakes, with a Dealer
who won't tell you the rules, and who *smiles* all the time.
