So are there any really good depressing fics where NOBODY dies?

OH yes. There certainly are. The entire run of "Thy Inward Love" comes to
mind...
Incorrect, Zen-san. Cologne died, after all.
Compared to the other nominees, though, Cologne's death is
relatively minor.

BTW, since when is TIL depressing? I personally consider TIL near the
WAFFy zone. Think about what happens to each of the characters through
the story, and then tell me if it seems depressing to you.
I found it somewhat depressing. There's just this sense of heavy
finality throughout the entire fic. I mean, what goes on in Shampoo's
mind, in Akane's, Ranma's.... It's so serious! Lawson is, after all, a
master of melodrama. Sure, there are several WAFFy moments, but every time
I read it, they seem to be overriden by the weightiness of the work.

(remembers Zen's Ranma-Ukyou leanings)  Um... nevermind.  ^_^;;
Well, there's that, too. ^_^ For Zen, anyway. Me, it's just the
fact that Ukyou gets the short end throughout. Yes, there are my Ryouga-
Ukyou leanings, but anyone...well, _almost_ anyone (still dislike Konatsu)
would have made life for her a little happier.

Seriously, I have a couple sadfics where nobody dies... "A Man I'll
Never Be" and "Kurobara" come to mind. I've been trying to be a nicer,
gentler writer...
	Self plug! Self plug!!! ^_^
So, then, if you're doing it, then I'll plug "All Alone in the
Night". People tell me that not only is it depressing, it tends to strike
a chord within some of them, as well. Ranma, despite being surrounded by
so many people, is essentially a lonely person....
