Oh come on. What about one of the most underutilised (in fanfics) Sailor 
Moon cultures, the Nemesis (Black Moon) clan? What about drawing characters 
from other mythology/nationality legend backgrounds? What about making up 
something that has nothing to do with the Moon Kingdom?

Usagi vrs? Coyote  wherein the goode and gentle lady must
convince the Trickster that things will not decay in the coming
Silver Kingdom.

 Actually I myself have  Mercury wondering (in my yet to be completed fic) 
if it will be a world of
stasis.... and if medicine will be needed....
and is this good for humanity.....

The idea's (new characters from the Moon Kingdom) been done to death, then 
dragged through the town by a galloping horse, then hung above the city 
square to rot for a few days, before it was fed to starving sewer rats. Then 
it was done to death again, just to make sure. 

How about
 Dark Kingdom/Light Kingdom 
 Where the senshi must face themselves gone bad?
 or even better just one alone?
 (the Mirror Mirror Startrek episode)

and of course Dark  Moon :Rebellion
 The fall of the Kingdom of Nemisis (which does not sound likea cheery 
fic)
